The summer of 1996 was a fever dream. The idyllic masterpiece blanketed them from the war, clouding them in a sea of warmth and happiness. For a while there was nothing but him and her. Every morning they found themselves in each other's presence; walking, talking, laughing. For a moment they could simply be themselves. Lyra James was no longer The Seer. Harry Potter was not The Boy Who Lives. They were just a boy and a girl with one last summer.

Firstly, the casting for Harry Potter is by own personal fancast so don't be up my dick about it. If you come at me commenting 'I cAnT ImAgInE aNyOnE eLsE bEsIdEs DaNiEl' I will mute you. I've got no qualms with that man or his fan casted father but honestly, I've had about 90 comments on one chapter alone in 2021 saying the exact same thing. Like I get it, you're not happy but it honestly sounds like a you problem and not a me problem. This is fanfiction baby, write your own if it's such a big deal to you xx

Anyway, hostilities out of the way, hi guys! Thanks for choosing to read this, it's really appreciated! If you didn't already know, this basically is set in the summer of 1996, an important one between Harry and Lyra. It marks a calm change in pace in comparison to the summer of 1995 and their fifth year. It's a time which they both describe as 'the best summer ever' and is rightfully so. It is by no means the beginning of them and nor the end, but a period that's important. It takes place between chapters thirty and thirty one and you absolutely don't need to have read limerence to be reading this. No major plot points, just two teens vibing and falling in love.

There are minor trigger warnings for - discussions of loneliness, war, abusive families. I will add more as I go along.

Dedication - protectremus for letting me ramble and come up with this idea. I made it so she could see something of my writing because Limerence is being edited and it has given me so much serotonin. Haley, darling, you're the best <33
