Tommy's POV

I feel the wind race through my hair and chill my bones. It doesn't help to have only short sleeves on all the time, especially during winter. I can feel the winter breezes are settling in, gradually putting a end to fall. I grumble at the thought of cold air and white snow. I continue my hike down the dense forest swatting at any tree limbs that grab at my clothes and hair. All I can do is hope I find a village to steal from. Then I will not be cold or hungry this winter, maybe even find a near by shelter. I smile at the thought, reminding me much of a home. I used to have a home, it was a large house and nice people. That's all I remember, at least that's all I can rember of it still standing. I can vividly recall the one fateful night that not only burned my house to the ground but also separated me from my parents.

I was sleeping soundly in my bed when I was awoken by loud noises and many loud shouts. My mother, who I can not recall the face of, rushed to my room swooped me off and ran quickly out the house and to the woods. I remember being held tightly, my face pressed against her shoulder as I felt her tears drizzle the top of my head. Curious, I looked up to see my house burning to the ground, the house that contained my father. Later that same night my mother found a cave to conceal us both in. She was gone for a while, said she needed to get us food, she never returned. Then I thought she was killed, now I am lead to believe she just left me. Maybe it was I who caused all that trouble? I would have left me too if that was the case.
"Still, it is not right to leave a 6 year old in a cave alone with developing wings that he would never learn to use!" I grumble to myself upset at the fact I could have known how to fly.

As I continue my journey throughout the entire day I find my throat becoming increasingly thirsty. I only had so much food and water I try only to drink and eat if deemed absolutely necessary. I scratch at my throat, hoping to ease my mind away from the need for thirst. Sadly the pain from my nails cannot compete for my lust for water. I stop in  my tracks, swing my small bag I found a few years back near a lake, containing a circular, metal bottle of water. I take a swig of the lukewarm water and think back to when I found it.

Sadly it was empty at the time but nothing like lake water and a metal container to boil that couldn't solve my problems.

Ever since that revolutionary discovery I stayed around the lake, hoping I could build myself a hut and weapons and live happily. Sadly the water brings dangerous animals and
mysterious creatures lurking near the bank. So I had to leave but not without searching everywhere near that lake. Sadly nothing was around, so I continue my search for a village still. Then I hear rustling leaves and the snap of twigs. Suddenly a flock of different kinds of birds scatter from the tree, flying west. Something's here, and it's big.
