I love Lyric, she took me in when my dad left. Being Storm's best friend she understood how hard my mom was on us. Yet right now I could really kill her for making me try on this hideous dress. It's her wedding and I'd do anything to make it special, but its so poofy and short. YUCK!!
" Oh, i love the way yellow looks on your skin! ", Louise squeals, as if she had good taste. She got the cute dress, a nice flowy one.
" Don't they have something longer, or less poofy?" I basically beg. I see the sparkle fade out of Lyrics eyes, when she shrugs and turns. I face back to the mirror and sigh, I can't just ruin her day.
"Ok, I'll buy it, it's not that bad, it could be worse." I say turning back around to see her jump up and down smiling. Louise and I laugh as we join Lyric in some kind of a happy dance. Although I feel every eye in the store on us I can't help but to be happy.
We each pay for our items and exit the store, putting our stuff in the trunk of Lyrics car. On the way to Cafés Verlet, our favorite, I hear Lyric tell Louise about our double date she has planned, she mentions the boys name is Darcell.
" Thats an odd name if i ever heard one", I say before I think. Louise laughs, but Lyric shakes her head.
" I think its quite charming, and playful ,Lydellary! He's a nice man, and I'm sure you'll like him!" I just roll my eyes at her and chuckle, I wish she'd give up on trying to set me up. I don't want a relationship right now, espescially with some mysterious poet named Darcell.
" I'd love to join you! i could bring Abe, he's been wanting to meet you and Tom for quite some time now. That is if you dont mind!", Louise says. Lyric squeals and shakes her butt in her seat.
" I cannot wait Lydell, this is going to be so much fun!" Lyric says excitedly.
" Oh yeah, mega fun Lyr." i reply sarcasticly as we turn into a parking space.
We enter the Café where Thomas, who has decided to meet us for lunch, is seated at a table. Louise hugs him and Lyric gives him a light peck on the lips, i just sit down and grab a menu.
" What no hello kid? I thought you loved me?", he laughs. I smile and look up from the menu.
" Hello Tommy. How has your day been?" I ask politely. He picks up a menu and mumbles complaints about his boss, who rufuses him a raise. Lyric is quick to jump in and comfort him saying how much he "deserves it", and how "hard working" he is. I force back a scoff and order my food, I can't wait to get back to Lyrics.
