Chapter 5

Later that night we start another stream and Alex decides to stay in the room with me again. I think it's cool that he's starting to come out of his shell on the streams. I'm glad he's getting comfortable with it.

"Now that you've gotten what you want, what should I draw?" I ask the chat. The chat spans with 'Lams'. What the heck is lams. "What's Lams?" Alex asks, not really getting responses.

Then someone gives us an answer: it's the ship name we created for you and your roommate. Alex and I both glance at each other and turn bright red. Well uh what a way to start the stream I guess.

"Guys we're not dating. We're just friends." I say quickly. Alex nods and scrolls through the chat to find a better request. "Turtle wearing a baseball hat backwards and it's shell is a baseball." Alex sighs. "Creative but... odd. Very very odd.." I mumble and start drawing.

I start drawing the turtle trying to ignore the majority of the chat. All I can think is they're on our case and now it won't be long until they figure it out oh god. "So uh this is a type of turtle I've never drawn before", I say trying to start a conversation.

Alex laughs. "I'd be mildly concerned if you thought to draw this on your own. And [random user], please get help." I laugh more. "Alrighty then." I chuckle and finish up the drawing.

"If you turn your turtle plush into this however I will be concerned", Alex says to me. "Understandable", I say as I finish up the turtle, "I mean the turtle is literally a baseball. Anymore suggestions?"

The chat asks for a couple more random animals, hippos, pandas, koalas, etc. I do a few more before realizing I've been streaming for almost hours. "Oh wow. Time sure flies when you're having fun! Bye everyone!" I say and end the stream.

"Well that was an awkward start", Alex says. "It sure was" I agree, "But at least it's over now." Alex nods before asking, "How many of the people requesting drawings of us do you think was our friend group?"

"At least 80%. The username that popped up the most was 'ThisIsntHerculesMulligan'." Alex says. I burst out laughing. "Seriously? That's awesome." I try to calm down but it's just hilarious how stupid Herc can be sometimes.

Soon both of us are just sitting there laughing and Alex finally texts the group chat: we know it was you guys that were spamming the chat. Then we just have to sit and wait for responses.

Lizzy: NOOOOO
Mari: it was liz
Lizzy: MARI
Mari: whattt I don't wanna be in trouble
Lizzy: meanie
Mari: ♡
Lizzy: forgiven
John: stop being a sappy couple
Lizzy: no
Alex: john we can out cute them
John: sure
Alex: I love you John
John: ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Alex: ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
John: I love cuddling with you and seeing your gorgeous face
Alex: and I you
[Lizzy has left the group chat]
[Mari has added Lizzy to the groupchat]
Lizzy: release me from my misery!
Mari: no
John: k bye
Alex: ciao

Well we won and Alex is very excited about that. He has and always will be very competitive, I've decided. "So what now?", I ask. Alex just shrugs. Well that wasn't very helpful.

"Wanna just... watch another movie?" I ask him. He shrugs again. 'Thanks Alex. you're really helpful.' I think to myself. I sigh and put on Mean Girls because why not. He looks pretty confused as it starts.

"What's this?", he asks. "Mean girls", I respond, "it's amazing so-." Alex decides to give my opinion a chance and starts to watch the movie, but of course it comes with the normal questioning he always has when watching movies.

"Is this like Legally Blonde?" Alex asks and cuddles into me a bit. Aww. "No it's not!" I gasp and look at him shocked. "Legally blonde is about overcoming stereotypes. Mean Girls is basically becoming a stereotype. Do you not pay attention at all?" I ask. He shrugs. Is that all he does?

"I've never seen mean girls before", he says. Well I suppose that explains it. "Then pay close attention and you'll see the difference", I say and turn up the volume.

A few movies later, Alex and I fall asleep in the middle of Shrek. Don't ask me how because I'm not sure, but we did. Last thing I remember was Donkey (Don-kay) and shrek walking through a forest with Fiona. When I woke up, I'm still cuddling Alex which makes me smile ear-to-ear.

I check the time then realize I'm going to be late for my next stream. Do I wake Alex up or should I just stream without a chat monitor. How do I make this decision quickly without pushing the stream back further.

I sigh and wake up Alex then make a quick coffee for him. "What's going on?" Alex asks groggily. "We have a stream. Here's your coffee." I say and hand him the mug, going over to my computer to start the stream.

"Hey guys sorry the stream is a bit late I got distracted, now how about some requests?", I say opening a new page on my drawing tablet.

"More turtles... but of us again." Alex says and tries to hide a smirk. I smile a bit and start drawing us as turtles. It turns out it looks pretty good so I add it to my website. My website allows my fans to bid on my art and the highest bit wins it.

"Anything else?", I ask. "More like people asking why you started the stream late for the first time ever", Alex responds "Uh-", I start off, not sure what to say next.

"There was a family emergency." I lie and continue drawing. "Check Instagram for any paid requests." I tell him and finish coloring. He nods and checks my DM's. "Uh.. theres one but..." he shows me. It's a picture of me and my ex-girlfriend. From my ex-girlfriend. Oh god.
