Safe and Sound (Naruto Oneshot)

The Best Kazekage

Gaara asked his siblings Temari and Kankuro to accompany him outside.

"What would you like, Gaara." Temari asked nervously.

"Well, it seems our old friend Naruto Uzimake has been captured and possessed by a ninja from the Village hidden in the sound. I'm not sure how they did it but he's wrecking Konoha with his enhanced power. The Village hidden in the leaves has sent an S rank mission asking for his defeat and I thought that you two should go." Gaara explained to them.

"Um Gaara, I think we should have more... Firepower because Naruto is the hokage, strongest ninja in the Village hidden in the leaves. Although Temari and I are jounin, I doubt we could handle him on our own especially if his powers were enhanced." Kankuro told the kazekage.

"That's why I'm going with you, Kankuro." Gaara said walking home. "You guys should pack up because we're leaving tomorrow at dawn."

"Ok Gaara! See you then!" Kankuro said waving.

"You idiot! We live together we'll see him the whole day." Temari facepalmed.

They started walking after Gaara quickly catching up. Temari went to her room and packed up her fan, two sets of clothes, some food and water, and finally she grabbed her vial that contained healing pills. Kankuro packed up both his puppets, three sets of clothes, face paint, food and water, and he grabbed his ninja pack holding his kunai and shurikens. Gaara just grabbed his gourd and some clothes.

The next morning, they all got up and started talking.

"Do you guys have everything, clothes, your primary weapons and your kunai and shuriken?" Gaara asked them.

"Uh I accidentally forgot my kunai and shuriken..." Temari said running back home.

She came back a couple minutes later and they set off. They were jumping from tree to tree in silence and finally they arrived at Konoha after a few hours.

"Be on your guard, he's around here somewhere..." Gaara said scanning the area.

"Gaara, behind you!" Temari shrieked.

Gaara turned around and his sand rushed to his protection. He saw Naruto but he looked different. Instead of bright blue eyes, he had crimson red eyes. Instead of his blonde hair, he had grey hair with a little blonde streak through the top. He looked ready to kill. Gaara simply looked at him and commanded his sand to attack Naruto. Naruto easily dodged the sand and threw some kunai with perfect accuracy and a lot of power. One kunai tip almost toucked Gaara's nose. Kankuro commanded his puppets to go to work. He easily trapped Naruto and used the Iron Maiden. Naruto, surprisingly, broke through the jutsu. Temari grabbed her fan and swung mightily, blowing Naruto five hundred yards away.

"Wow.. He's a lot stronger when he's possessed" Kankuro breathed out. "We should formulate a plan and then attack"

They couldn't come up with a plan because Naruto came crashing through the forest almost right after they talked about planning. A ninja came out of no where, right next to Naruto, and laughed.

"You can't beat us like that... I possessed Naruto and now, whether you like it or not, he will kill you. Unless of course, you kill me first." The ninja cackled.

Gaara sent his sand to attack the unknown ninja leaving himself open to an attack. Naruto grabbed a kunai and threw it as hard as he could at Gaara. Temari and Kankuro were too far away to help and Gaara's sand was about to kill the enemy ninja.

"Sand..." Gaara started but his eyes widened as the kunai punctured his stomach. "Sand... Coffin..." He said and closed his hand. The ninja was decimated and his body exploded within the sand.
