Frisk POV

It's been a few days since we settled with Toriel, and things are starting to settle down. (Y/N) is healing slowly and can walk now, kinda. Let's just say it takes a good 5 minutes for him to walk across the house by himself. Well maybe that's being a little dramatic but it still takes him a good minute to walk. I myself am feeling as fit as a fiddle and am just still adjusting to living with Toriel. Feels nice not to have a drunk eye watching your every move.

I wake up and look at the clock Toriel put in our room, "7:47 am." Pretty average time for me to get up. I've always been an earlier riser, unlike... I look over at (Y/N), who is passed out in his bed, looking ever so peaceful. I find myself staring at him for a moment, just taking in all his cute facial features. Wait what no he is your best friend! Not... I shake my head and dismiss any thoughts, and get out of bed. I put on the slippers Toriel bought for me and (Y/N) and walk through the house to the living room where Toriel is sitting in her chair still in her night gown, fireplace crackling with a warm subtle glow eminating, presumably a cup of tea, and a slice of butterscotch cinnamon pie. "Oh good morning Frisk! How are you doing?" Toriel greeted, putting her slice of pie down on the small side table.

"Good morning mom! I'm fine today, how are you?" I reply.

"I'm doing well, thank you for asking. Would you like some pie or tea?" Toriel offers.

"I guess I'll have some pie." I tell her. She nods and gets up and walks to the kitchen, me following. She cuts a slice of pie, puts it on a plate, and hands it to me.

"Come my child, let's relax in the living room." I nod and follow. We walk to the living room and she sits in her chair while I sit on the couch near the fireplace. We sit and eat for a few minutes, basking in the scenery. We both finish our pies and Toriel finishes her tea, and we put them in the sink to be washed soon. We both walk back and sit down and enjoy the subtle yet comforting warmth of the fire. "So Frisk, I know this is a bit of a touchy subject, but I think it would help if you talked about it. How were your lives on the surface? If you're not comfortable talking about it, I understand." Toriel says subtly.

"Pardon my language by it was hellish. We had really bad parents. Our parents lived together as they've been lifelong friends, and they did whatever they wanted. Smoked in the house, drank a lot of alcohol, abused us, made us do everything around the house... they even nearly sexually abused us once. It was horrible." I start tearing up as Toriel walks over and sat beside me. She wraps me in a tight, loving embrace.

"I promise for as long as you two live, I will never let anything like that happen to you children. No one deserves that, especially not children." She comforts me as I start crying uncontrollably as she wraps her arms around me as I hear her start sobbing as well. "I promise."

"Thank you, mom... thank you so much." We sit there for a few moments, both crying until we hear shuffling down the hall. We both break from the hug and get up to see (Y/N) leaning against the wall, winded, slowly shuffling down the hall. I quickly rushed over to assist him. "(Y/N) if you need help, you should've just called us!" I scolded softly, wrapping an arm around his back. I hear a soft chuckle from Toriel down the hall as she watches.

"Frisk... your face... are you ok? You're very red." (Y/N) ask with an exhausted voice.

"Y-yeah, I was just talking to Toriel about them, and I got a bit emotional." I say with slight hiccups in my voice.

"Oh..." Is all he says.

Toriel walks over to us and embraces us in a loving and tender hug. "Please, my children, if you ever need to talk about anything, don't ever hesitate to come talk to me, I will always be there for the both of you." She whispers, crying slight tears not wanting to let us go, but we eventually released from the hug. I assist (Y/N) to the living room, and we all sit and enjoy the warm fire.
