BAILEY POV:

I woke up on the tour bus wrapped in my blankets, still dressed in the same clothes from the previous day. My hair fell messily around my shoulders as I sat up.

Without thinking, I tried to kneel and stretch, bumping my head on the ceiling in the process. “Shit,” I said under my breath, rubbing the back of my head.

“Well, good morning to you too babe,” I heard Niall say, looking up at me from his bunk below. He looked like he had been awake awhile, which was odd since he usually slept like a freaking koala. He pulled his ear buds out of his ears.

“Morning,” I croaked, my gentle morning voice showing through. I slowly climbed down from my bunk and crawled over next to him, careful not to wake the other boys who were sleeping peacefully around us.

I laid on my back, my head resting on his pillow, leaning slightly onto his shoulder. “Why are you up so early?” I whispered, looking at the time on my phone. Before he could answer, I reached over and took the ear buds off his chest, putting one into my ear and one into his.

“Don’t know,” he said, looking down at me. “Couldn’t sleep.. what about you?” I leaned over, took the ipod out of his hands and began scrolling through his playlist.

“I have to work,” I said, sticking my tongue up at him. “Plus, I’m not the best sleeper either.”

“Really? Could’ve fooled me by the way you keep falling asleep everywhere,” Niall responded.

“Yeah,” I blushed. “I was gonna ask how I got into bed last night. Could’ve sworn that I fell asleep in the back room.”

“You did,” he laughed. “Liam insisted that we put you in bed.”

“You could have left me,” I yawned, scrolling further down his playlist until a certain song caught my eye. “I love this song,” I said, pressing play. ‘Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ by The Script floated through the buds.

We both stared up at the ceiling as the bus steered its way down the road. We just sat there listening and tapping along to the beat. I mouthed some of the words at Niall, getting them wrong and he laughed at me. The song ended and I lifted his ipod up in front of my face to pick out a new song.

Before I could, the song ‘Drops of Jupiter’ by Train started to play and I turned to Niall excitedly. “I FREAKING LOVE THIS SONG,” I whispered loudly as the first notes of the song played. “I can’t not sing along to this.”

‘Now that she’s back in the atmosphere..’ I mouthed the words and tried to restrain myself from dancing and belting out the lyrics (which I’d sound like a dying walrus). Niall looked over at me and grinned at my discomfort.

He grabbed for the ipod, but I was quicker. “Don’t you even dare,” I told him seriously.

“You know you’ll wake everyone up.”

“Yeah I know, that’s the problem!” I complained.

“Fine, but I’m not taking the blame if Zayn wakes up angry at you,” he joked. As the chorus approached, I bit my lips knowing I just couldn’t contain myself. He held back laughter and clutched his stomach as he watched me struggle.

“TELL ME! Did you saaaail across the sun? Did you make it to the Milky Way to seeee the lights all faded? And that heaven is overrated,” I sang as loudly as I could whisper. I wanted to belt so bad it hurt.

I waved my hands as the instrumental played and Niall had to bury his face in his pillow to suffocate the sound of his laughter. He finally leaned back as he calmed down, sinking into the mattress a little.
