the next day was supposed to just be spent filming a few scenes as they were important ones that needed to be done right. the reveal scene was rehearsed a hundred times beforehand, without Izzie actually taking the arm wraps off so that they could get it done in one take

Izzie had shown Shonda the scars that morning because she wanted her to know what it would look like and how bad it was before promising it would be aired on tv which Shonda said it still would be

they had currently managed to go through all of the dialogue 4 times without anyone messing up and were getting ready to actually do it. all the cameras had been put in the right places, making sure to get the reactions of pretty much everyone and they were all weirdly excited, except Danielle who was more anxious than Izzie who was doing fine

"are you sure you're ok with doing this?" she asks again

"100 percent, Dani," Izzie says

"Okay, a few more minutes and we'll be ready," Shonda says

they were outside the hospital where Maya was supposed to get angry at Samantha for hiding something at her, which causes her to snap and show her and everyone who had gathered

"I know I saw them when they were cuts but scars? I don't think I've ever been more nervous" Danielle says

"I would tell you they're not that bad but that would be a lie. they're deep and purple and cover like my entire arms" Izzie says 

"I don't even know how you're able to do this"

"well, most people say you should be proud of your art but..." 

"Izzie!" Danielle says, laughing slightly

"come on! that one was funny"

"still!"

"ok, are we ready?" Shonda asks everyone 

"I think Danielle's going to freak out," I say, "just full warning"

"ill try not to," Danielle says

"ok, right, we've got one shot of getting the true reactions so make it count people"

"ok, and, Action!"

scene

"no, are you lying or something? was that the first excuse you could come up with?" Maya says, raising her voice as a crowd of doctors and firefighters gathers

"why would I lie about that?" Samantha yells

"I don't know, maybe it was an easy way out of everything"

"How can you claim to like me, and to not think of me like my mom did when you think I would lie about that?!"

"Maybe because you've given me no reason to trust you!"

"that's what you think?" she asks quietly, "you think that me telling you the one thing I've never told anyone before was something I did for fun? I did it because I thought I could trust you!" 

"you disappeared for weeks! you came back acting fine and suddenly blurted it out! how can I believe you're not lying?!" she asks one last time before Samantha takes the skins off, revealing the slashes running down both arms

"because I'm not lying," she says quietly

they stood there for a while, allowing them to get everyone's reactions before finally yelling cut, Danielle obviously wrapping her arms around her.
