The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
An iconic foursome of turtles is the animated equivalent to me and my best friends. The four of us haven't done anything fun together in years. That's about to change.
I suspected that Jayden, Emi, and Seth have been doing things without me throughout the years, but I'm excited to have the four of us together again.
Recently, it's been a separated group of ninja turtles. Jayden and I would hang out. Emi and I. Seth, Jayden, and I. This is the first time the four of us would be back together. Alone. It's miraculous. It feels like home.
The four of us have a friendship unlike any other. It defies all odds. After all these years, the three of them never ostracized me for being away for so long. Our friendship is permanent.
I still haven't bothered to change out of my pajamas, but it doesn't even matter. Jayden and Seth were in pajamas too. Emi was the only person who looked like she just finished a business meeting. She wore a white blouse with a black blazer, and fancy dress pants.
I assume she had one of her important college interviews today. She told me that she wouldn't be home until four o'clock today. Thankfully, Seth wanted to hang out with Jayden at the same time.
The ninja turtles were working on pure coincidence today.
"The turtle attack is back!" Seth shouted.
We sat in a booth at the local diner in town. Emi and I looped arms sitting next to each other in the booth.
"You stole that from the Mighty Ducks movie," I pointed out. "Also, the quote from the movie was, the quack attack is back Jack."
"You guys try rhyming turtle with something to make a funny catchphrase!" Seth pouted.
"Myrtle," Emi said.
"Fertile," I added.
"Hurtle," Jayden finished.
Seth pouted sinking into the seat. "I have a serious hatred for you three," Seth whined.
"I still think we should've been thought of as the characters from Rocket Power," I said.
Seth shifted from pouting to playfully scowling me. "My dear, sweet, lovable, Diana Hargrove! I have no choice but to put my foot down at this moment!" Seth shouted, gaining the attention of the other customers. "I declared us the ninja turtles and nobody denied it! We can't just change it now!"
"She's just mad she's Raphael," Jayden muttered, leaning closer to Seth. "Everyone knows he's the lamest of the turtles."
I reached forward attempting to hurt Jayden in some way. It didn't work.
