Dragon Quest (Fairy Tail)

Prologue

"I can't believe that it was another dead end." Natsu Dragneel growled to himself as he, Gajeel Redfox, along with their exceeds Happy, and Pantherlily, sulked out of the port town of Hargeon.

"Don't worry Natsu! We'll find Igneel!" Happy, the blue exceed that flew over Natus's head, said with encouragement.

"Don't forget about Metalicana." Pantherlily, the black exceed who walked along side of Gajeel, corrected Happy. "We might want to try and not destroy most of a town next time too." The four looked over their shoulders at the burning, smashed, and well over half way destroyed town of Hargeon. They might not be welcome there again any time soon.x

"Aye!" Happy cheered and then frowned. "Don't we say that every time?" They all sighed knowing that it was true. But the two Dragon Slayers couldn't help it, they wanted to find their Foster Fathers.

"So where to next?" Gajeel asked as they came to a fork in the road.

"Magnolia or Akane Resort."

"Let's go to the Resort! We need a break!" Natsu cheered coming out of his glum mood. Gajeel was about to protest, but Natsu was already speeding down the road with Happy right behind him.

"He has a point." Lily said.

"And it's really sad to say that I do agree with his point. Let's go. Hey! Salamander, wait up!" Gajeel and Lily took off after the two knowing that it would most likely end up being a very short break.

Lucy Heartfilia walked through the beautiful town of Magnolia on her way to the Fairy Tail guild. Her small white Celestial Spirit Plue, walking by her side. She was extremely happy today, she had just finished a job yesterday and was hoping for a while of relaxing. Though sadly when you're in Fairy Tail there is no such thing as 'relaxing'. When Lucy opened the guild doors a chair was thrown at her head. It might not have meant to be going to her head, but Lucy didn't care, it was pretty much normal. If Fairy Tail wasn't drinking, fighting, or laughing, there was something wrong. The only question was, why was there a fight this time?

Lucy made her way over to her friends dodging flying objects. She sat down and waiting for a minute to say hello to everyone because they seemed to be very focused on something. Wendy Marvel, a young bluenet girl, with Sky Dragon Slayer magic looked up and seen that Lucy had finally shown up at the guild.

"Lucy-san!" Wendy exclaimed causing the other's to look up at her. A round of greetings we said to Lucy and a paper was slid in front of her.

"What's this?" Lucy asked picking it up.

"News from Hargeon, someone trashed most of the town." Juvia Lockser, a bluenet vaguely explained. Lucy only shrugged pulling the paper up to eye level to read what it was talking about.

'HARGEON TOWN MOSTLY DESTROYED BY TWO MEN AND FLYING CATS!"

"You're joking right?" Lucy asked her friends.

"It's a really big deal. I guess it's happened to a few other towns also." Liana Strauss, a white haired Animal Take-Over wizard, said. Lucy only nodded and went back to reading to paper.

'Just yesterday Hargeon was a beautiful port town, but today it's in ruins. Burning and smashed to little bits and pieces, Hargeon will be in recovery for a long time. Many people lost their home, businesses, and almost their lives. From many witness reports this was said to be caused by two men, one with short spiky pink hair wearing a white scale like scarf and the other with long spiky black hair with face piercings; they are also said to have a blue and a black flying cats with them. The men seem to use some kind of Fire and Iron magic. After all of the events of destroying the town, the culprits seemed to have split leaving no way of knowing where they could have gone. Sadly, they people of Hargeon and many other towns will not have any closer on who exactly did this and why, for now it will just be recovering from these dramatic events.'

"This is horrible. What next? Magnolia?" Lucy gasped.

"Like we would let that happen. We're Fairy Tail, the strongest guild." Erza Scarlet, a women with long Scarlet hair Requip wizard, answered.

"That's true. So we don't actually have anything to worry about." Levy McGraden, a blunt Solid Script wizard and Lucy's best friend, giggled taking a seat next to Lucy with her Shadow Gear team mates Jet and Droy standing behind her with loving grins on their faces.

"Lucy, Levy, I need to see you in my office." Master Mokarov's voice boomed through the guild, most people didn't notice. Lucy and Levy hurried over to the Masters office knowing not to keep him waiting.

"Yes Master?" Lucy asked for the two as Master Makarov eyed them.

"I see that you've seen the news from Hargeon. This has happened in many other towns around Fiore, and the Magic Council wants Fairy Tail to find who is doing this and stop them." Makarov told them.

"So, you want us to look for them?"

"Yes. Thankfully we have our lovely first Master, who has so gladly gave us more information on the two." As normal after being said, Fairy Tail First Master Mavis Vermilion shows up from out of no where, for being a gosht she is a great help to our Fairy Tail wizards.

"Girls, I'm sure you know of what is called Dragon Slayer Magic, our own Wendy and Laxus has it, they are not alone. Yes there is many different types of the magic, but these two boys were raised by two very ruthless Dragons known as Igneel The Flame Dragon King and Metalicana The Iron Dragon. These two will no go easy on you for a second, you must be on your guard at all times. You are the only ones who can do this." First Master explained to the girls.

"Erza, Gray, Laxus, or even Wendy aren't better suited for this? I mean at least Wendy and Laxus have the same kind of magic." Levy exclaimed.

"They could be, but you have been picked for the job, and we have faith in you."

"Find the two Dragon Slayers around and bring them to the guild." Makarov told the girls. They only nodded before running out of the room and through the guild.

"Meet you back here in half an hour!" They shouted to each other. Neither knew what they were getting into, but they knew that they couldn't let everyone down.
