Moonlit Path

A Warning

"Good morning." Chris said as he walked in the kitchen.

"Good morning. Just sit, I'll make you tea." I smiled and grabbed his favorite mug from the cupboard. "Babe, I have to go to the lake tomorrow." I said as I turned the electric kettle on.

"What for?" he asked as he sat on a bar stool.

"Rai needs to talk to me about you know what." I walked over to the pantry to grab some black tea. The water boiled and I poured it in his mug and dropped the black tea bag. "He needs me in my moon form." I said as I joined him at the breakfast table.

"Thanks, babe. How long will you be out?" he asked.

"I honestly don't know." He noticed that I was playing with my thumbs so he grabbed my hands and I looked up at him.

"I trust you, but I'm still not sure about Rai." he said as he pursed his lips

"Do you want to come with me?" I smiled knowing that he's just too chicken to ask if he can go.

"If it's not a bother to you. I can read some more of those journals while you guys do your..." he sighed...

"Say it... I dare you." I inched my face to his.

"Your woof thing." he laughed and I smacked him on the shoulder.

"I don't know what to call it, okay. And 'woof' was the first thing that came to mind." I pouted.

"I'm sorry." he laughed and gave me kisses all over my face.

"You're so lucky I love you." I said.

"What are you guys talking about?" Dad said as he got to the kitchen.

"Nothing. Chris and I will be going on an overnight trip tomorrow." I said as I put my hand on Chris' leg.

"Where are you guys going?" he asked.

"Oh, Richard. Your daughter is an adult, she can go wherever with whoever she wants." Amanda said as she tapped my dad on the shoulder.

"She's still my baby girl." Dad protested.

"Oookay. I'm going to be in my office." I said as I hopped off the stool.

"I think I'll go with her." Chris followed.

"I'll bring breakfast so don't lock the door and you two better not be naked!" we heard Amands yell from the kitchen as we made our way to my office.

"Go on inside. I have to go get something upstairs." Chris kissed my forehead and ran up the stairs. I grabbed my iPad from my desk and started looking through the herbology ebook that Rai e-mailed. Good thing it's in PDF so I was able to export it to Goodnotes and take notes while reading.

"Sage, close your eyes." Chris said as he walked in the office. I did what I was asked to do. "Hold up your hands." I felt him walking closer to me and a few moments later he placed something on my hands. "You can open your eyes now."

"A box?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Oh just open it, will ya." he laughed. I opened the box and in it was a really thick leather bound journal.

"Babe, what for?" I asked as I got up and hugged him.

"Well, while I was re reading the journals that Rai gave you I thought it would be nice if you documented your life journey." he smiled.

"Awww, sweetheart. Thank you so much!" I kissed him and sat on his lap after he sat on the bed.

"Sweetie, I do need to talk to you about something though." He bowed his head as I got up and sat beside him with my legs crossed.
