Ann was starring blankly in to the air and not feeling like talking. She has tried it so many times but was taken as a nag.
"It's alright if you don't want to say anything but trust me talking about it will help a lot", Mary said expecting an answer from her but there were silence. Mary looked at James, "do you have anything to say?"
"Since she's not saying anything I have nothing to say either"
Mary exhaled deeply looking at the note book in her hand, "you both are making this difficult for me", with a teary voice Mary continued, "you are making it seem like hell for me and you know what! I hate hell!", this time clenching her teeth and her brace showing, "Yes I hate it! I hate it! I hate it!", she said hitting the book hard on her laps.
"Are.... are you okay?", James stammers feeling confused while Ann was looking at her with all her eyes bulged out.
"No I'm not! Mm mm!", Mary snaps shaking her head and starts to cry, " it's time to take my sausage, my delicious sausage! Now I can't! You know why... Huh?"
Ann and James shook their head still lookingconfused.
Mary points at them both, "it's because of you two, you are getting on my nerve which is making me unhappy right now, I only eat when I'm happy, now I can't because I'm not", Mary snapped and slowly inhaled and then exhaled demonstrating with her hand.
"Go and have your lunch Miss Mary, we will wait!", Ann talked for the first time since they started.
"Then answer me", Mary gave her a deep stare as if looking right in to her bare soul and Ann felt it.
She looked away, "He doesn't love me"
"I don't love you!", exclaimed James.
"Will you please stop interrupting her!", Mary scolded him, "please continue Mrs Ann"
"That's it....that's all"
Mary turned to James, "Is it true? Do you love her?"
"She thinks I don't love her! Was it the reason for her behaviour, I can't believe this!"
"Do you love her?", Mary repeated.
"Of course I do! She's my wife!"
"Tell her yourself, she's right beside you, explain to her how much you love her"
He looked at her, "I love you!", James said and looked away.
"Ann, what do you have to say"
"He's lying, he's a Liar!"
James became angry, "you called me a Liar!"
"Yes I did and will do it again, Liar! I could sense the lies in your words, they were meant to carry emotions but you killed them with your mouth like you were forced to say them. What am I even saying! Of course she asked you to if not you would never have, never!", turning to Mary, "it has been ages he said that to me, even to tell me how beautiful I look is so difficult for him"
"How will I admire what I don't see anymore!"
"What you don't see? What you don't see James? Are you saying that I'm now ugly?"
"Anymore! You forgot that one! There is a huge difference when you add or remove it! Now answer this, when last did you make a new hair? Do you know how long you've had this one on your head?"
Ann looked around her, "Are you talking to me?"
"No I'm not talking to you but Mary!", he said and grabbed Mary's hand.
"Awwwwww! That hurts!"
"Oh! I'm so sorry!", he said blowing air on it and patting it gently.
"Is the pain gone?"
Mary nodded and he stopped then looked in to her eyes still holding her hand, "oh my lovely sweet wife! You look beautiful!"
"What are you doing? I'm your wife!", Ann shouted.
Mary looked at her in confusion , "am I his wife?", then to James, "am I your wife?", and then to herself, "who am I?"
He let go of her hand, "oh! I thought you were pretending not to realise that I was referring to you. I should be the one to say that you don't love me because you don't!"
"how dare you say that to me James! You and I know that I do love you with all my heart"
"Hold on! You now call me by my name right! No longer my love or sweetheart it's now James all because I'm saying the truth I wonder what you will call me next! But it won't stop me from saying the truth and nothing but the truth. Could you tell me when last we spent time together as husband and wife, huh?"
"It's-only-two-days!", Ann stressed, "and you know why!"
"please remind me, I have forgotten"
Everywhere was quiet, "Yes! I'm waiting ! I'm all ears!", James reminded her but their was no response. "You see!", he said to Mary. "I've been starved for quite a while now, I can't even touch my wife at my own will, whenever I do it's from one complain to another like, I'm tired! Not tonight! Don't touch me! I'm not in the mood!", James said mimicking her. "And every other damn reason!". "And you called that love?"
Ann broke in to tears, she cried for long, Mary was just observing and taking down notes.
"I work for twelve hours a day, I take care of the house, I cook, clean, wash. I do all these everyday by myself! I don't have a helper, you haven't for one day helped me out or even ask how I cope, all you do is to come back from work tired and expecting to be served and taken care of. I barely have time for myself, before I could finish up it's already night and I will be exhausted, sometimes I won't meet up and will have to continue the next day. And you expect me to be at your beck and call anytime? You must be kidding!", she said amidst tears which was now dripping down her face including the fluid from her nose.
Mary and James washes with intensity as it gently runs in to her mouth, the disgust they felt could be seen on their face.
