It was another lovely day in Wonderland. Queen Vivianna sweetly hummed to herself as she sat in the royal gardens, sewing her cross-stitch. The sounds of soft giggles filled the large garden. King Richter could be seen crawling on the ground on all fours as a young boy sat gleefully on his back.

"Fwaster, daddy. The bwad guys are gwettin' away." The prince, not older than three, softly tapped King Richter on the sides with his little feet.

The king laughed and obeyed the child and went as fast as he could.

King Richter suddenly stopped in his tracks when a pair of boots came into view; followed by an annoyed tone. The young boy froze in his joy. The very presence of this man gave him shivers down his spine.

"Is this really how a king should act, brother?" King Richter looked up to the handsome face of his younger brother Lord Vladimir. He watched as his brother's eyes were fixed on the boy on his back, even though he addressed him.

He smiled at him and let out a gentle chuckle as he set the boy on his feet, "Honestly Vlad, a whole 2 years younger than I but you act as if you were an old man. Where is your sense of fun?"

Lord Vladimir clicked his tongue in annoyance as he moved his gaze from the boy to Richter, "I told you not to call me that, Richter. Besides, I've been off winning wars for the past 5 years in your name for what? To come home to see you playing like a child."

King Richter shook his head still smiling, "Yes, I'm spending time with my son. He was born 2 years after you went off to war, so you did not get to meet him yet." Richter gently grabbed the boy who was now hiding behind him by the hand and pushed him towards Vladimir. He leaned down on one knee and said next to him, "Alec, this is your uncle Vladimir, say hello."

Alec though still frightened gave a polite bow to his elder, "Pweased to meet you, uncle."

Vladimir studied the boy for a moment. Then the realization hit him, 'He's beautiful. Hair golden like the sun. Eyes as blue as the ocean. Skin soft and smooth like a young girl. Perfectly pale with a slight tinge of pink. So perfect. He's a spitting image of his mother....' Rage now takes over his thoughts as he now knows what his brother did in his absence. Noticing his lip twitch in anger he cleared his head and politely bowed back to the young boy.

Richter let out a hardy laugh and patted Vladimir on the back as he led him to the castle, "Come brother, we have much to discuss."

Later that evening:

Vladimir threw open the door to his room in fury and outrage. "Unbelievable, I've been risking my life for 5 years to come home for what? To see my brother married to the woman I've loved since childhood and being introduced to THEIR son!" In his anger, Vladimir flipped a table full of books on its side. "It all could've been MINE if my idiot brother hadn't sent me off to war in his stead. If he would've gone like he was supposed to I could've made sure he wouldn't have come back alive. Then Vivianna would've been mine and that child could've been OURS."

Having exhausted himself from his rage-filled frenzy, Vladimir slumped onto his bed. He placed his face in his hands and sighed in frustration. He was quiet for a moment, then he sat up slowly, an idea forming in his mind.

"No matter, the time has come for me to take action. I'll get my revenge on them BOTH!"

One week later:

The citizens of Wonderland were in an uproar. The once peaceful kingdom; in chaos. The people no longer saw their beloved king and queen as the kind and just rulers they thought they were. Lord Vladimir, being the strongest of the Fae descendants, placed a dark curse on the kingdom of Wonderland.
