《JAY'S POV》

Jay and his friends had barely sat down at their table when Matt showed up next to them.
Riven instantly tried to tell him about what just happened in class. "Matt, you will not believe-"

"Hey guys, did you meet my new friend?"
Riven frowned, probably wondering who Matt was talking about. "Eehh, what friend?"

"Well, friend is a bit too much. That new guy in your class, Charley."
Riven grabbed Matt by his arm out of pure excitement at hearing the student's name. "Oh my god, Matt I swear he's fucking-"

Matt again interrupted him. "I showed him around school today. I thought he might become friends with us."
"You what?" Nick asked. Jay felt confused too. Were they really talking about the same guy?

"Have you talked to him yet? He's a bit cold at first, but once you get to know him he's pretty nice."
Riven nodded and looked around the table at his friends. "Yup, he's talking about someone else."

Matt seemed a bit unsure of what was going on. He was about to start talking when his eyes fixated on something behind Jay. As soon as he looked over his shoulder, Jay realized it was Charley he had focused on, who was looking around with his plate in hand, suddenly appearing a bit insecure.

"He's searching for a place to sit." Matt concluded. "I'll invite him over."
"What the hell." Riven muttered, but Matt didn't seem to notice.
Instead he stood up straight and started waving at the boy.

"Charley!" He yelled out.
The dark-haired boy finally noticed Matt and started walking over.
"Hey, how was your exam?" He said, with a chuckle in his voice.

"Garbage. Did you meet these guys already, by the way?"
Charley finally took his eyes off Jay's stepbrother, suddenly realizing who were sitting right next to him.

"What the f*ck." He mumbled. "Matt, how do you know them?"
Matt frowned, probably wondering what was going on.
"Hey Charley. I see you met my friend already?" Riven said, his voice sounded harsh.

"You're friends with him?" Charley turned to Matt, his voice was a mixture of upset and disbelief.
"Eh, yeah? With all of them actually."

"Why?"
"Why? What do you mean?"
"Hey Matt. Did you ask him yet what he thinks of gay people? That might clear something up." Riven suggested.

"Charley?" Matt asked, but Charley didn't respond. It didn't even matter, the expression on the new student's face told all there was to tell.
"What, you're a homophobe or something?"

Jay clenched his teeth. These were the kind of people preventing him from being with Levi. They were the ones ruining other people's lives, just because they thought someone being different means they are wrong for being that way. Gosh, he couldn't stand this guy.

"Do you know they're dating each other?" Charley pointed at Riven first, then Nick.
"Obviously. What, you have a problem with that?"

"Oh come on, Matt. It's not that big of a deal."
Matt looked like he was about to punch this dude. "Yes it f*cking is. If not for the sake of my friends, then for me."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Charley looked genuinely confused.
"I'm gay, Charley."
Charley took a step back. "Wait, are you being for real?"
