In idle dreams of long ago,
I imagined my true love;
A perfect match, a soulmate,
An angel from above.

Now you're here, and now I know
Our love will stay and thrive and grow.

It was a normal sunny day in Mondstadt. Definitely a nice one for your first day back. After getting your reward from Katherine for completing your commissions it felt like you had nothing to do. You walk around the city noticing almost everything was the same. The weather was perfect and sunny. The cheerful buzz since 'storm terror' was gone and all of the people enjoying a day out in this lovely city. You see Sucrose digging through shelves at the alchemy shop, she looked focused so you didn't bother her. Sarah was cooking food and placing the meals in to go boxes. It smelled so good as the smoke filled the air. The fountain looked as pretty as always... Except that same 1 guy standing in it.... How weird. You walked down the steps to see the reputation board. All of the new papers on it looked interesting. You walked through the tall gateway to see the tavern. It reminded you of a lot of things. Meeting with Diluc, Jean and Venti to discuss on ways to save Dvalin and mixing drinks for a small event. It also reminded you especially how thirsty you were.

Mind: "Why don't I stop for a quick drink?"

You set foot inside, hearing the jingle of the bells on top of the door and the joyful talking and laughter of the guests. You look around and see a few familiar faces from the adventurers guild. You walk up to the bar and sit on a stool. You place your feet on the wooden bar that's holding it together. Charles walks up to you. He had his sleeves rolled up and he rubbed off his hands with a cloth.

"Hello traveler, welcome to Angel's Share. What can I get for you?"

You see Charles smiling at you as you look at the wooden menu above. You skim across the letters and find something that catches your eye. Grape juice. That one bitter drink that is not everyone's favorite but tastes so nice on a hot day.

"Could I get a grape juice?"

Charles smiles at you and let's you know he'll make it real quick. You rest your head down on the bar table. You look around the warmly lit tavern at all of the happy customers and the slightly spilt beer throughout the tables. It glistened so lightly making the table's finish look off. Someone then appears next to you sitting down. You look up to see someone with beautiful red wavy hair and piercing auburn eyes. Diluc. You then sit up to see him looking at you.

Charles: "Hello Diluc! What a pleasant surprise to see you here!"

Diluc: "Hello Charles, How's business been going?"

You look at Diluc as his eyes soften. He definitely seems to be more relaxed in the tavern. He always glimpses at you every few seconds. When their conversation finally dies down and your drink is placed on the table you lightly sip it. The best grape juice spots in Mondstadt is definitely the taverns. You and Diluc both just stare at eachother for a moment. He looks at you up and down briefly scanning for a change.

"Hello [Y/N]. How have your travels been."

"They've been pretty ok. I've met plenty of new friends throughout this journey."

"That's good."

Yet another silence. You sip your drink and close your eyes to the amazing crisp flavor. You open them to see Diluc looking at you. When he sees that you noticed he looks away. He rests his head on his hand. You take a moment to mesmerize his hair. Its in a high ponytail today. His bangs are more messy than usual. He looked good that way. He then looks back at you.

"Inazuma, huh. I've heard rumors about that place."

He looks into your eyes with a curious look. His eyes widened in curiosity.

"What was it like?"

"Stormy and definitely difficult. A whole war broke out when I showed up."

He chuckles with a little smile escaping from his lips. You look at him as he smiled. It's definitely not the most familiar thing. Diluc was one of those guys who always seemed angry or upset. He looked so good when he smiled. He notices how you're looking at him and starting speaking again. His cheeks turn as red as his hair and his smile fades. His eyes seemed to squint a little.

"Ahh.. we've heard a lot about your travels and I'm glad to see you're ok."

You smile. It was nice knowing that he cared. You finish your drink and ask for a refill. You and Diluc sat there and talked for almost an hour catching up on things that were missed from both sides. He looks at his watch and stands up. He was so tall. His build was firm and his suit fit him so well, it captured everything so well. He was so perfect.

"Well, [Y/N]. It was fun talking to you. Unfortunately I have some business to attend to. Stop by the winery some time, alright?"

Your face softens. You didn't want him to leave.  The conversation you guys were having was such a welcoming comfort. You wished he had more time.

"Alright. Maybe I'll stop by soon as I can so we can talk more.~"

He smiles. God, that smile made your day. You put some mora down on the bill leaving a tip. Charles thanks you as you walk out the door. Your shoes scuff the stone path as you walked. The crickets buzz softly. It wasn't as annoying as you used to think it was. You look up at the sky. It was so clear tonight, the stars were so noticeable. The town was so much more quieter as the day died slowly. You wandered about, looking for a place to stay. You walked to a hotel. It was so warm and vibrant inside. You walked up to the front desk to rented a room. Your eyes scanned the place in awe. The room was cozier than the hiding places you had to stay in at Inazuma. Those things were so cramped. But you were lucky to have people back there that saved you from getting caught. You flop onto the bed and slid off your shoes lazily. The bed was amazing. It was softer than anything imaginable to you in that moment. You slid under the covers and pulled them up to your chin. So warm and cozy. You closed your eyes. His smile enters your head. It was like all you could think about. That smile. The warmth of his eyes. The roundness of his cheeks. You roll over, the thought leaves your head slowly. About thirty minutes later you find yourself dozing off. What an amazing day today was.
