My name is Stacy, I don't really use journals that much but aside from our camera, I'll also be using one for the purpose of documenting our findings for this story. Because of the pandemic, most of our colleagues are sent to cover stories in the hospitals. With barely any stories for us to cover, me and my cameraman Jackson are instead covering this story about weird noises in the sewer along with a few missing person reports because why the hell not, the others are way too busy or overqualified for tabloid level stories.

Anyway we've asked around the area for what the locals think it is. Most dismissed it as just noises from the pipes and that the missing homeless people and sewer workers are just coincidence, some claim there's a secret underground lab funded by either the government or a big Pharmaceutical corporation that is testing for bioweapons and even a vaccine that will brainwash the citizens, and an even smaller group of people claiming it's a demon unleashed by God as the next step after the pandemic in exterminating humanity for their sins.

After we finished our interview with the locals, we head to one of the sewer entrances with a worker named Cletus who volunteered to guide us in exchange for $100. I just hope we get this over with quickly.

We continued walking for almost an hour inside the sewers, finding nothing unusual and a few abandoned tents of homeless people. Until we heard that loud growling noise. I noticed Jackson is hesistant to go to wherever that noise came from and has even asked Cletus to take us back to the way out. I was having none of his cowardly crap and insisted that we continue exploring the sewer.

A few minutes later, we saw a homeless man, hysterically running away from something. From the quick glance I got of him, it looks like he has blood all over him. Finally, we're getting somewhere. I also noticed Cletus pulled out his gun, 'Better safe than sorry, there might be no monsters but that doesn't mean it's completely safe here, especially with that hobo running around' he told us. We then decided to go to the direction where the homeless man came from.

This was a mistake, we should have turned back when we had the chance. We had two chance actually, when we first heard the creature growled, and when we find the bloody homeless man running, yet we stubbornly ignore all the warning signs.

I saw it, that thing, it looks likes a big disgusting reptile with claws, and somehow standing on its two feet like a human. It happened so quick when it attacked us. Cletus tried shooting that thing but unfortunately, the 9mm was barely even scratching that thing's skin, in fact it only agitated the beast more. It quickly lunged at Cletus and bit him in the neck, causing him to drop his gun. I was able to grab it before me and Jackson tried to run away. As we ran, we can still hear the creatures biting through Cletus' flesh. I'm sorry but there's no way we're fighting that thing head-on it we want to survive . I didn't want to do it, but letting it eat him is the only way we can escape.

We lose it somehow, but I know eventually it will find us. As for me and Jackson, we'll try the best we could to retrace our steps back to where we came in or just try to find any exit out of this death maze.

That thing is smarter than we thought, everytime we find a route that leads to an exit, it suddenly appears to try and block the way out. It certainly knows this place much better than us, preventing its food from escaping. It nearly got us the last time but I was able to shoot off one of its three fingers in its right "hand", giving us enough time to escape again. We were forced to rest in an abandoned tent until we can find another way out.

I was still writing on this journal when we heard the screams of a homeless person or two as they were being hunted and killed by that thing, forcing us to quickly leave the area. Along the way we saw badly mutilated bodies with huge chunks of their body bitten off. The smell of the sewer didn't make me puke but the sight and smell of those corpses surely did, I just can't take it anymore. Apparently my puking was loud enough to be heard by that thing as it showed up again, with its right hand fully healed. It tried to attack us again but I managed to shoot it on both its eyes, blinding it temporarily, allowing us to escape once again.

A few hours later, Jackson told me he noticed a weird looking door in one of the tunnels we just passed by. He convinced me that it might be worth checking out. I agreed and we began to make our way towards it.

We found the door, and it does look out of place in the sewer. Jackson was able to pry it open with a crowbar he found on the floor.

We entered and discovered an abandoned laboratory inside, that door is apparently one of its exits. In the lab we found the dead bodies of scientists and a few guards as well as a broken huge glass container. We found this note written by someone named Dr Lloyd, explaining what the hell that thing is.

Apparently this project funded by the government was started 3 years ago in an attempt to create bio organic weapons, an apex predator that can be deployed against enemy combatants. They tried mixing the DNA of several animals and even human DNA to create whatever this thing is. All of their hybrids were failures and unable to live for more than a few minutes.

It was not until a year later when things started to change, when the government acquired the DNA of some prehistoric creature perfectly preserved in amber. By mixing it with the other DNAs they were able to finally create their apex predator.

After another year, their creature was finally born, resembling an eel-like creature and was contained within the glass tank filled with water. As it grows it began developing limbs and lungs, as it also starts to slowly turn into a more humanoid shape. It was noted during DNA testing that the creature has the capability to reproduce asexually and a regenerative healing, the latter being also a point of interest for the scientists hoping to replicate such healing on humans.

The note ends with the statement that the project became temporarily shelved during the onset of the pandemic leaving only very few scientists and guards to stay in the lab.

That is probably when the creature finally grew big and smart enough to escape containment. Eventually making its way into the sewers and hunting the homeless people and workers unlucky enough to cross its path for food.

After writing the previous paragraph we hear the faint growl of something in the room. We quickly found its source, an infant of that thing, clawing out from one of the corpse, the thing must have layed its eggs inside some of those people. Jackson was quick to act and bashed that thing with the crowbar into a bloody pulp.

Just a few minutes after killing the infant, we heard the roar of the adult creature as it approaches. Noticing the gun locker, we quickly grabbed the shotguns in the lockers. The creature found us once again. It tried to jump towards us but we quickly shot it in the mouth, blowing its brains out. I can't believe it, it's over, that thing is dead.

Shit, there's more than one of the adult creatures. And as we were frantically looking for a way out to the surface in the lab, another one appeared and tried to drag Jackson back in the sewer, I tried in vain to chase after them but the creature was too fast. I lost them. I can't just leave him I must go af
