~A/N~

haha, making Grian suffer go brrrrr

can we normalize accidentally making characters who are insignificant your favorites, please? thanks.

we get ourselves some Impulse action today. I feel like out of all the Boatem members, Impulse would be the most worried about Grian suddenly collapsing out of nowhere. It's just a thought. I feel like it's a thing.

I mean, sure, his best friend Mumbo Jumbo would be worried, but come on, man. I need to write about the other Hermits more.

speaking of other Hermits, I don't think I've actually allowed Pearl to speak yet-

oops.

I'll fix that at some point.

Peace, Love and Plants,

Grey

"Dreamslayer? That sounds like a wizard name," Scar taps his chin thoughtfully. "Are you sure you were never a wizard?"

"I may have been your lackey at one point, but I have never done any magic past enchanting my gear," Grian retorts dryly.

"Ok, ok," the wizard raises his hands in defeat. "I was just checking."

The pair were standing in Scar's base again, the magical runes floating around them. Grian would never be able to get over how cool it looked when Scar cast the spell. Grian leans against the wall, looking at his friend expectantly.

"What about the symbol I saw? Do you think it might have some significance?"

"I can't be sure without seeing it for sure," Scar replies. "That was a pretty vague description you gave me."

Grian looks around the room to find something to write on before remembering why he'd recognized it so quickly. He pulls off his goggles and points to the left lens.

"This. It was this symbol," Grian says.

Scar takes the goggles and looks at it closely. "Do you remember having these before you came here? The goggles?"

Grian looks back to the memories he'd recovered so far from his life before. The familiar weight of the goggles had always been... missing. He shakes his head.

"I... no. I didn't. I never noticed that..."

"Maybe they were meant to represent something from your past," Scar hands the goggles back. "I still have my wheelchair from before I figured out how to make these–" he points at the leg supports he wore on the outside of his dress pants. "–so maybe they were a gift from that friend you keep remembering?"

"Maybe, but why would he give me something with the symbol of the people we hated on it?" Grian asks.

"I really don't know, G. I'm sorry I can't help more. I promise I'll look into any beings called Cosmic, but there are so many in all the mythos of the End that I probably won't find anything."
