AN: I don't own Akashi Seijuro... only the story and the OCs are mine. I'm not really good on spellings and grammars so... please bear with me. Vote or comment if you like.
"Seijuro dear, why don't you come here for a while?"
My hands halted upon hearing my mother call for me. I looked at the piano keys for a moment then jumped out of my seat, my small feet landing with a thud on our blood crimson carpet.
I walked my way towards my mother. She's sitting on our sofa near the fire place. I looked at my dad for a while and he was busy reading the daily newspaper while sipping hot coffee.
It was a cold winter but I could barely feel the coldness. It was so warm inside our house even though big and only a few lives in it. More warmth can be felt if I'm between my mom and dad.
I sat beside my mother. She hugged me so tightly and it feels so warm inside. I felt happiness, contentment, light, and protected.
"I know it's not right for me to give you such but it would be such a waste." she mumbled as she looked at me lovingly in the eyes. She stood out off our chair and went out of the room. Curious, I looked at my busy father and he has his eyes on the door where mother exited. He looked at me, shrugged then continued his business.
My mother returned with an average sized box at hand, maybe the same size as my father's shoe boxes. She placed it on my lap and I looked at her with curiosity. She smiled at me then nodded-silently motioning me to open the box.
A child I was, I was expecting for a toy car, a new pair of shoes, a gift that may enhance my talents or maybe a piece of cake. But when I saw the contents, it was the least thing I expected.
"Dear, don't you think it's so unlikely for you to give that to our son?" My father asked seriously and my mother just responded with a soft smile and a small shook of her head.
I held the toy doll by her shoulders. Her hair was curled and dark colored, as dark as people's mind who have fallen to deprivation, some might say. Her bloody red eyes sparkled like a piece of ruby, shining proudly amidst the flood of different colored stones. Her pale skin is as white and as cold as the winter snow that falls outside our house. She wears a simple dress colored in cerulean blue and dirty white. Lastly, she has a red rose tied on her neck.
"Seijuro? This is your grandmother's gift to me when I was at your age. She told me to keep it so that whatever happens, I would never be alone. How about it? Will you be her friend also? Mommy couldn't promise that she'd be forever by your side."
I really don't know what she really meant by that.
I gaze up to my mother and she's smiling sweetly at me. Even if I don't like it, how could I ever say no?
I looked at my father first and he just looked at me blankly. I looked back at my mother and with a smile, I nodded even though I don't want to.

I walked my way towards my room and with these little feet, I feel like I've been walking forever. I opened the door that leads to my room and I placed the box on top of my bed. I opened the box and looked at the doll. It doesn't look old at all.
I turned my back on it and walked towards my collection of toys. On the highest part, is a single cage of glass and inside it is my dad's gift when I was two-a robot that costs a lot. I pulled a chair near the shelf then climb on it carefully. I opened the glass case' door and took the robot out. I looked at it sheepishly then without thinking twice I transferred it where all of my other toys are placed.
I placed the doll inside the glass case and closed it. A unique toy on my collection, I thought to myself.
