Naruto's New Life

Chapter 1: The Orphanage

This takes place after Sasuke left the village. Naruto failed to bring back Sasuke. They had a big fight and Sasuke broke something in Naruto. It convinced him to leave. 

~NO POV~

"Okay guys," the orphan keeper said getting the teen's attention. "Some guy is coming to adopt tomorrow. He looks about 16 and is new to the village. He doesn't have an age range to adopt so he's gonna go around and meet every kid. I want you guy to watch him." She continued now catching everyone's attention. She then walked out of the room.

"He sounds weird, what kind of 16 year old wants to adopt," Ikeda exclaimed. "we'll find out when he comes tomorrow," Tahara says.

~Naruto's POV~

I finally left Konoha. After all the abuse I suffered I finally left. To think all it took was a genjitsu on a piece of paper. Right now I'm heading to this orphanage. Since I want a new start I thought it would be best if I started it with a family. The kids would love to finally have a family. I know that kids are hard to care for but I have a lot of love to give. Plus, I've been saving up my money from my missions for a house and some supplies. For a job, I'm going to become a ninja.

When I arrive at the orphanage I was greeted by a lady that looks to be in her late thirties.  "Welcome back, the kids are just about down getting ready for the day but if you want you can take a look at the babies while they're finishing up," she told me while leading me to the back to the nursery. I walk in and see a group of teens staring at me watching my every move. I was used to being watched so I just ignored them. The lady left and I walked up to the nursery and took a look and the babies, most of them were sleeping the others were playing around. To be honest I've always had a soft spot for babies. Back then when I was in an orphanage I would always take care of them. I sat down in the middle of the nursery and watched as the babies started to crawl towards me. 

I stayed in the nursery playing with the babies for a few minutes. The whole time the teens were staring at me. But when I got up to confront them I heard a baby cry. I instantly looked over and noticed one of the babies that were sitting in their crib. At the side of my eye I could see the teens about to head over but I was already on my way. "Hi little fella," I said softly as I picked them up. "Why are you crying" When I picked up the baby they looked at me and stopped crying. "OH, I see you just wanted attention." I looked down at the page attached to their crib that has their information. Before I could read it one of the teens snatched the baby out of my hands and they started crying again. "How did you get her to stop crying." the teen asked me as if I did something to the baby. "I just picked them up.." I said confused. 

"You're lying what. Did. You. Do." they said now with a stern tone. "I didn't do anything. I saw them crying and I picked them up. Since you and your group of friends have been watching me I would have thought you would have known I didn't do anything." I sassed back. I could see the shock on their face. They probably didn't know that I knew they were watching me. "how did you know we were watching you..." they said surprised. "I use to be a ninja in my old village I'm trained. I know how to tell if someones watching me even if they hide their chakra." I answered back clearly upset. 

I took the baby back from their arms and they stopped crying again. "WOW... You use to be a ninja... what was it like?!" They asked me excitedly. "well my team hated me so it wasn't the best." I answered truthfully. The lady then walked back into the nursery. "The kids are done getting ready. If you just follow me I'll lead you to their play area." She stated as I followed behind her. (Still carrying the baby as they were just going to the room next door.) We walk in and I can see the excitement in the kids faces. "Hi...um...Im Naruto..." I said awkwardly. "Hi Naruto!" they greeted. 

"umm..not to be rude but what makes you want to adopt..." A little girl in a a cute pin jumpsuit. "well I never had a family and since I'm new to this village I thought I should give someone who also didn't have a family a family." I responded. "you're also an orphan?" another kid questions. "yup". "You said you never had a family so you weren't adopted?" The girl in the pink jumpsuit asked. "No I never got the chance to be adopted. I was kicked out of the orphanageat a very young age." I answered. "why" The kids said at the same time making my sweat drop. "The people in my old village hated me so they kicked me out so other kids could get adopted and the orphanage could get better ratings." 

"They sound mean" A little girl said with tears in her eyes. "They were but if I wasn't kicked out i wouldn't have been able to become a ninja. The orphanage had a strict rule about becoming a ninja." I said trying to calm down the little girl. I sat the baby down next to me and I hugged the little girl. "It won't happen to you so you don't have to worry". It took her a little to calm down but soon she did and we all sat in a circle. I felt the teens chakra coming closer so I knew that they were her to watch me again. I made eye contact with the teen who confronted me back last the nursery and they turned to the others whispering something to them. They walked over and joined the circle. "Mr. Naruto you said that you were ninja what was you're scariest mission." One of the kids asked. I thought for a second because I didn't know if i should tell them. BUt i decided it didn't really matter if I told them. "My scariest mission was my last mission. I had to bring back my rouge teammate who in return made a whole in my chest." I heard a few gasps and then a voice spoke up. "can we see" "sure" I lifted my shirt and showed my srac that ran down my peck.
