I was screaming at the top of my lungs.
“Are y’all down to fuck!?” the DJ screamed. The drunken crowd responded quickly.
“HELL YEAH!” I chorused along with everyone else. I was grinding against some guy that I didn’t know. Neither of us gave two fucks. We were too caught up in the electronic pulsing of the music. We were too caught up in this moment. The past and the future didn’t matter.
“You’re so fucking hot,” he murmured, leaning down and giving me a wet kiss. I kissed him back quickly. What was his name again? Jeremy? Jack? No, it definitely wasn’t Jack. Why did that name make my heart hurt? Who was Jack again? The guy I was grinding against smashed his lips against mine again, and coherent thoughts slipped away from my brain. His hands moved to squeeze my hips. It didn’t feel bad or good. I felt much too numb to even respond to his hands on my body. I just kept grinding and kissing, grinding and kissing.
“Yo, Dalton, we’re heading out. We’re gonna go hood riding! You down?” a guy asked. Ah, Dalton, that was his name.
“Aight. You coming?” Dalton asked to me, a sideways smile tilting his lips.
“Ookay,” I slurred. I giggled drunkenly. Dalton shoved me in front of him, using his hands on my hips to steer me in the right direction.
“This is soo FUN!” I cheered. Dalton laughed behind me.
“The fun hasn’t even started yet, babe,” Dalton purred. We were suddenly in the parking lot. When had we gotten here!? I gasped in delight. We had teleported! The guy behind me laughed so hard tears came out of his eyes.
“This one is too funny,” he snorted. I smiled happily. He was talking about me! I was funny! I flipped my hair over my shoulder. I’m hot shit! Dalton led me to a black Audi. It looked shiny and new and expensive. I like expensive cars!
“You two can go first,” the boy called. He hopped in the front seat of the car. I went to follow him, but Dalton’s hands on my hips tightened.
“We’re riding on the hood,” Dalton explained. He sat on the hood of the car and gestured for me to follow. I squealed. We got to ride on the hood! I’d never ridden on the hood before! I wondered if my grandma had ever ridden on the hood. She would have looked funny. Her skin was all wrinkly! I hopped onto the hood, stumbling only slightly. I sat on Dalton’s lap, and the guy in the car revved the engine. I could feel the excitement building in my veins.
“She’s right there!”
“Wait… what the Hell is she doing?”
“Who the fuck is that guy!?”
“Skye! SKYE!”
“Mother of God. They’re going hood riding.”
“You’re joking, right?”
“I wish I was.”
I turned to see who was talking about me, but we were already driving.
