I never thought I would ever be going to a huge concert let alone a BTS concert but here I am in Korea, standing in line to collect my tickets for THE CONCERT with my best friends.
It's been a long day, like my best friend said "waiting at the counter behind hundreds of people to get that one ticket of a lifetime is so exciting", all my energy was gone there. I am just praying so that all this can be done and I can go camping peacefully without any of my friends hanging around my back screaming, breathing and eating BTS. This was the only reason I agreed to join them. University has been so stressful and without a break I might just forget to breathe.
I am not an army, but I sure as hell would become one if I had been there another second with that crowd. And watching the boys on the stage, aahhhh! God! I truly understand and see why they have such a huge fan following all around the world! The sight of the whole thing was just overwhelming. We are going back to our hotel room which is not much further away from the stadium. I am pretty sure Nina and Violet will not be able to close their eyes without dreaming about the boys for the next few months at least. I think a sense of realisation rushed through Nina and she just can't stop hugging Violet screaming, "AAAHHH! We saw them! We finally saw them!' I can feel Nina almost squeezing Violet. "Oh god V was just...I can't believe it's over", Nina sobs dramatically. I really enjoyed it and I am happy for my girls too.
I don't consider myself as an army, but I think I can be called a fan because of all the binge watching I did of Run BTS. It's so confusing because I watched their daily life so much but haven't heard more than a song, weird I think, but I can't help who I am.
It's almost 3:00 am, and I am starving. Nina and Violet are already asleep, with all that shouting and screaming they must be tired as hell. I am really tired too but my hunger isn't gonna let me sleep. The restaurant at the hotel we are staying in is closed, obviously. I thought of taking a cab to the small street shop that the receptionist recommended but my dumb head said "Wow! The night looks great and quiet, let's walk".
I didn't realise it was this far. Not just today's but an entire month's leg workout is done for me. Finally I find the small lonely shop with bright fairy lights. It looks cute though, seems like a typical Korean street food place. I approach a table that looks like a small counter, trying to search for someone to take my order. The stranger guy who was sitting outside said something in Korean that went right above my head. Probably he realised that I didn't understand and said, "The cook will be back in a minute". I say thanks and take a seat near him. It was a little awkward because apparently there is not another table and chair except this one. We give each other an awkward smile, at least I think so. These stupid masks hides it all. He's in all black with a beanie. I need a snap of that beanie because I am damn sure I will be buying that before I leave this place. My phone always has perfect timing. It switches off as soon as I take it out. If I wasn't hungry I would actually be a little scared sitting in front of a stranger dressed in an all black oversized hoodie with a mask on AND A BEANIE! How convenient is THAT?
A chef walks in with a bag and both me and the stranger guy stand together. He went first and gave his order, he then looked at me and asked, "What, is your order?". I was taken aback for a second and replied, "One bowl here", which he translated in Korean to the chef.
We sat again and this time he spoke first. "After all these years he still doesn't know how to take orders in english". All I do is smile and say, "Thank you for helping". "Sure, I'm Tokki by the way", he says introducing himself. "I'm Y/n", I say. "I take it you don't belong here?". First of all it's midnight, strange guy being sweet, should I run for my life or talk to him just as sweetly as he is being right now? I am so confused! "Yeah, I'm from Y/country, but I travelled here from Los Angeles, coz that's where I am studying" is what I say trusting my guts for choosing to be sweet."That's great, are you here just for touring?" he asks. "Um no actually, the main reason I am here is for my friends. They are huge fans of bts, so I'm here with them for their concert". When I said bts, something in his eyes flinched, or maybe it's just me over analysing things, maybe he's a fan too or a hater. "So you are not a fan huh?" he asks with a brow slightly raised.
It's been almost an hour and I have explained almost everything that doesn't need an explanation. From how I am a fan and not an army to why reading novels is better than hitting the gym. I have almost finished my Ramen while he is still arguing about gym. The chef brought the strange guy's parcel. As the strange guy stood with me to leave, grabbing the parcel with the hand submerged inside his oversized sleeve, he asked which way I was going. I think I can trust him now, so I show him the direction. He offers to walk with me and I don't deny it.
We reached the front of my hotel, "Thanks for the ramen". He grins, at least I think he does, "Don't forget you owe me a bowl", "Sure, maybe next time" I reply. "Of course", he pauses for a second and says, "whenever next time comes" like there was going to be no next time, it makes sense though. I am sure this will be the last time I will be seeing him. He's already walking away when I scream, "Thanks for walking with me, stranger guy!" He bursts out laughing when he heard stranger guy.
He corrects before he disappears around the corner, "It's Tokki".
