We Are Tied

What Flavor?

It is a quiet school morning as it seems that every student has been burnt to ash. The optimism and cheer that was once part of the atmosphere had now completely dissipated. Gabby and Kane are now standing in front of Kane's classroom.

Gabby - I will see you later okay?

Kane says with a wink - I'll miss you.

Gabby looks away chuckling - Don't miss me too much. Bye!

Kane - Bye!

After school; Gabby is waiting patiently for Kane to arrive. Then she hears quick, light footsteps approaching from behind her.

Kane says in an ogre voice - Gabby!

Gabby - Wo - damn! Nice to see you too.

Kane - Can we get ice cream?... today... right now... quickly...

Gabby - Okay? Let's go?

Kane starts dragging Gabby towards the car. She pushes her in the seat with force. As Kane is entering the car she hears Gabby grumble something under her breath.

Kane - What is it? I couldn't hear you.

Gabby - Nothing, I just can't decide where to go.

Kane smirks - Oh you know where.
Gabby grins back - Let's go.

On the car ride to the shop Gabby and Kane continue to make awkward contact, for example; Gabby tried to reach for her sunglasses in the slot meanwhile Kane was trying to look for quarters. In short, their hands touched rushing blood to Kane's cheeks.

The timid atmosphere as they wait on each red light to turn green, the angled looks, and even the loud heartbeats were heard in the love-contaminated car.

Kane gets out of the car stretching. She launches on her feet as soon as they hit the ground.

Gabby - Kane slow down! You'll get hurt again if you run like a child.

Kane lets out while running - Nah, you think too much.

Gabby - Just watch what happens and we'll see about that.

Kane reached the sidewalk near the front door of the shop. Although, just like Gabby said; Kane fell to the ground and scraped her face.
Gabby starts to laugh not letting a single chance go to waste. She is a good friend therefore she jogged over to her and offered Kane her hand.

Kane - Gabby... don't you dare say it or you are getting kicked in the ass...

Gabby smiles mischievously - Then why did you remind me dumb bum?... I...

Kane's eyes close tightly and she cover's her ears.

Gabby - Told...

Gabby - ...you...

Gabby - so...

Kane sticks her tongue out and says - I get it now help me up!

Kane takes Gabby's hands and helps herself up.
This only caused her to be out of breath.

Gabby - Alright let's go.

They are discussing their options but there is too much to choose from. Kane's favorite flavor says much about her.

Kane exclaims - Strawberry! As always!

Gabby - I am going to get cookies and cream; the best flavor.

Kane puts on a face full of awe.

Kane fake cries - There is no way that you just said that... about savory strawberry ice cream.

Gabby steps closer to Kane - I just did, what are you going to do about it.

Kane - Step away before I strangle you.

Gabby - Whatever, let's go eat these before they melt.

They eat their ice cream. Obviously not ignoring the fact that Kane is the weirdest ice cream eater. The faces, the actions, the biting into a cold substance. Their friendship is threatened by every bite she takes. Once they finish, they stay over at Gabby's house; following along with their coming over schedule.
