Tira's POV

Derrick set down the glass he was holding that I didn't notice before and he sighed.

"What's the point of learning about someone you can't even remember? Literally, it's even worse that you guys get some sort of intense migraine when you get information that jogs your memory," Derrick said, looking back at Phil and co playing with kinetic sand.

"It feels wrong," Emma said quietly. "She helped us out so much to get us here, but then we just forget her like she wasn't anybody important."

"Come to think of it, you didn't really get along with her, right Emma?" Don asked, tapping his chin. Everyone looked at him in shock, and I got it. How the hell did Don know that? He doesn't even remember my name but he remembers my absolutely totally amazing and totally not fake great start with Emma?

"I... how do you know Don?" Emma asked. Don shrugged.

"Gut feeling." We all sighed in sync.

"What's the point? Even if you do remember her what are you going to do? Bring her back to the land of the living?" Derrick scoffed out.

"Exactly." My head spun around to see Elliot just chilling next to me, looking bored out of his mind. "It's not like they can just wish you back here."

"I dunno," I said. "I mean, I don't think anyone has tried bringing someone back from the dead through the promise with HIM, even though there really hasn't been anyone who's even met him."

"Who's 'him'?" Elliot asked and I stared back confused for a second before forgetting that he was a ghost from the human world.

"Oh, basically God."

"God? The person who created the universe?"

"Uhhhhhhh," I looked away. I didn't study demon lore! How was I supposed to know? Did he though? At least the demon side of the world? "I dunno, but he made a promise with humans and I made a promise with him."

"Can you even tell me about this?" Elliot asked bored. Wow, he really doesn't care about our backstory huh.

"I guess, it's not like you'll tell them about it. You're literally a ghost, just like me."

"Pendulum? Duh?"

... True, but the way Elliot's been acting is making me wanna punch him.

"Anyways, how would we even get back to 'him' and make another promise to get me back? Besides, it's not going to be worth it," I said, shrugging my shoulders. Elliot looked at me weirdly.

"You don't want to be human again? Or I guess have a physical body?"

"It'd be nice, but I don't NEED it."

"How are people going to remember you without a physical body?!" Elliot shouted, getting mad.

"Why are you so mad? It's my ghostly being, not yours that's going to reject the offer," I said, rolling my eyes. Elliot clicked his tongue and ghost stomped his way out of the room. What's his deal?

"Even if we wanted to, who's to say that the side effects that we have now won't still be here if we DID wish her back?" Ray sighed out. "And besides, even if the situation over there is better I don't think any of us would really want to go back."

"Go back?" Derrick questioned, sitting up. It went dead silent and I stress smiled. Who's going to tell him? IF we can even tell him that is.

"... forget it. Besides, they're the one who gave up our memories of them in the first place, so I don't think they mind being forgotten," Ray said, shaking his head and changing the topic. I mean, having them forget about me so they could get to the human world was the best thing I could offer, so it's not like I DON'T mind being forgotten.

"I don't think so, Ray," Emma said. "I'm sure she's really sad and lonely right now, wherever she is."

Am I?
