I had just woken up when my mum walked into my room.

"Rise and shine honey." She opened my blinds and the bright morning sun shone in my face. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.
"Morning mum " I simply greeted her and yawned. She kissed my cheek and combed my hair with her fingers.
"Go shower and I'll make us breakfast." I nodded and got out of bed. My mum left my room and went to the kitchen to make breakfast.

It has always been the two of us. Mum said that dad left the day I was born never to be seen again. I haven't even seen a picture of him, but I don't care, life with mum was great. She was an amazing person and I couldn't ask for a better parent, mother, friend, guardian and supporter. She was always there for me when I needed her and she always understood me.

I made my way to my closet and grabbed a towel making my way to the bathroom to take a shower.

I came down with my school uniform on to find my mum making scrambled eggs. She was already finished with the bacon. I walked over to her and kissed her on the cheek.

"What can I help with?" I asked and she smiled.
"Well you can boil the kettle and take the cups out for some coffee and also make the toast too." I nodded and walked over to the cupboard taking out a cup and a glass. I took the sugar and coffee and added the right amount into the cup, before putting it back. I filled the kettle with water and put the bread in the toaster. I walked over to the fridge and took the milk and juice out. I was having juice instead of coffee.

"So what are you doing after school today honey?" The toast popped up and I took it out and placed it on a plate and buttered it.
"I'm going to netball practice mum, but I won't be home late." I told her and placed the buttered toasted on the dinner table.
"Why?" I asked and she turned around.
"I just wanted to spend time with my daughter today." I smiled and hugged her.
"We can tomorrow since is Saturday and I have nothing planned." She nodded and hugged me back.

"Bye mum, love you." I said and kissed her cheek, before getting out of the car and ran into the schoolyard to find my best friend waiting for me at our usual place.

"Hey Als." I waved and hugged her.
"Hey Mari." She hugged back and pulled away with a giant smile on her face.
"And this smile?" She pulled me aside to where noone could see us. She jumped up and down in excitement screaming: "Nino asked me out!!" I immediately started to jump up and down with her and hugged her.
"I'm happy for you Als." Tears of joy exited her eyes as she hugged me.
"And you may be getting a boyfriend too." She cooned and pulled away, with a giant grin on her face.
"What do you mean?" I asked raising me eyebrow.
"Well I heard that a cute and handsome boy will be joining our class today." I rolled my eyes at the look on her face.
"You know I have no interest in guys Alya." I crossed my eyes and looked at her seriously. She rolled her eyes and shook her head.
"Not everyone is like your dad Mari." She pulled me into a hug and I landed my head on her shoulder hugging back.
"I know, but I still can't get the feeling out of my head that maybe he will leave me too." Alya hugged me tighter and kissed my forehead.
"My sweet bestie. Someday you will find love and see that it is a wonderful feeling." She sighed dreamily, I shook my head, she was thinking about Nino again. I wonder who this new student is.
