After hanging up with Jade, I prepared to call Andi and Joie about a night in Miami. But Xavier coming outside interrupted me.

"Who you out here talkin' to?" he asked.

"Jade. She wants to have her listening party here during our soft opening in a few weeks." I let him know what we discussed, "What do you think about that?"

"More publicity for ZC2. Same for Jade. Win-win for each side. Why not?" He shrugged in agreement.

               "Great then."

"Tryna see how that would work."

An brow of mine raised. "What you mean?"

"Cairo, the Norman's.. They invited to soft opening."

"That's news to me. You decide to tell me that now?"

"Shit I ain't know our soft opening would turn into a album listening party, too."

"But you clearly knew Jade would come. It's my bistro."

"It's our bistro," he corrected. "And you invite who you want to and so do I. I still fuck wit Cairo. I'm Sarai Godpops for fucks sake. We all got our fuck ups. Shit we not proud of. The restraining order dropped so why not? They'll be straight in this professional setting."

My eyes rolled. "I guess. I need to be on my way. I have to meet with Cyndi."

"Cairo Pop sister?" I nodded, making him say, "If yo mama tellin' you to leave it alone, why not do that? He clearly done som' shit. They ran em off."

"Yea, well, I shall find out."

I leave ZC2 and drive south to Ekon's favorite diner. It was two story's and nearing the end of the lunch rush, the place started to clear out. A host leaded me up to the second floor seating and at a nearby booth I noticed a woman there. But she wasn't alone.

I walked over, eager to chat. But both of the familiar faces dropped my smile. "Halle? Dad? What—"
