I waited in the car as my dad went to pick something up from his friend, Nolan's house. I looked towards the house and saw my father talking to Nolan at the door. I can hear the rain as it tapping on the window. The rain seems to get heavier by the hour. I put on my earphones and put on music. I pressed shuffle on my playlist and grand piano came on by Nicki Minaj. I laid back slightly and watched as the rain fell on the windshield and slid down. I look at my father and Nolan handed him a duffle bag full of who knows what. It might be work stuff or maybe my father is going to work on something in the house. Last summer my dad, Nolan, Ryder, and I built a gazebo in the backyard. Ryder is Nolan's son and he is really nice. You can see Nolan's features in him.

I hear a small faint knock on my window and see Ryder knocking on my window. I smile and put my window down while taking off my earphones.

"Hey Ryder. What are you doing out in the rain?"

"I can't say hi to my friend?"

"Who's that?" I joked and smiled.

"Well, I can't seem to find her. She's actually pretty annoying so thank god she isn't here. " He joked and I gasped and punched him on the arm. He chuckled. I playfully glared at him. My dad came in the car. "Hey Mr. Adams" My dad playfully glared at him.

"How many times do I have to tell you to call me Mason?" He chuckled.

"It sounds too weird..."

"My... name?" My dad asked.

"No just me saying it... it sounds weird...well I'm gonna go and let you guys go. You should visit sometime Blair. Bye guys." Ryder said stepping back.

"Bye Ryder." I said and my dad drove away.

"He's a weird kid... " my dad chuckled and I laughed. We drove in silence for a while.

"Soon you're going to college. You're growing up so fast." He said taking a glimpse of me and back on the road.

"But I'll always be your little girl. Besides, I have one year left until college and that's after this summer." I said and he looked at me and faintly smiled. I smiled back and looked back at the road and screamed. "Dad watch out!" There was a man standing in the middle of the road. He didn't flinch or tried to move out of the way. His expression didn't show any kind of fear as the car charged towards him. The stranger grabbed the front of the car and threw it over. The car rolled over a couple times and landed upside down. My vision was getting blurry and turned black for a few seconds. I tried to regain my vision but it was hard to focus. I saw my dad get something from under the seat and get out slowly through the shattered window. He stood up and held onto his bleeding stomach and I noticed the gun in his hand. Why would he have a gun?

Suddenly, a few other men came out of the forest and I heard an inhuman growl. The man that flipped over the car started to go towards my father and my dad pointed the gun at him. The man didn't seem to be bothered by it. It was like the gun meant no harm to him what so ever. They all started to surround my father in a circle.

I saw their eyes change to different colors. Are they even human? Is this possible? I could see their nails grow longer and sharper as a growl escaped their lips. I knew this wasn't going to end well and that's when everything changed. I was once a normal high school girl and now... now I don't know what normal is anymore.

My father shot one in the head. They swung and he dodged the swings and kicked one of them onto the floor. His head was faced towards me. His eyes were golden with pecks of black and his sharp teeth weren't the usual normal human teeth, it was completely different. Their nails were sharper than any human can possibly ever have. Close to the sharpness of his teeth.
