25th April 2020:
The questioning was a lot more intense then the previous two time loops. A lot of the questions were centred around whether Venti had a violent past, they even brought in a psychologist to do a psychological exam on him to see whether he was mentally unstable.
At some point during the questioning, they brought up Venti's alcoholic 'tendencies.' Questioning how he was like when he was drunk, and whether he did anything he would later regret. Venti quickly shut it down before they could get anymore suspicious, quickly reassuring them that he was only way more hyper and cheerful then he normally was.
However, just his word didn't seem to satisfy the detectives. After they did some research, they found out which bars he usually went to, and brought some of the regular customers and bartenders in for questioning. Venti couldn't sit in with them whilst they were being questioned, however afterwards one of his drinking buddies informed him that they were questioning him the same as they questioned Venti, asking what Venti was like when he was drunk and if he ever got violent. They also questioned him about the type of character Venti was, Venti hoped that he only said good things.
Similarly, they also questioned Venti about all the other suspects, and asked him to describe whether any of them had known violent tendencies. At this point, maybe the detectives would figure out this case for him. Although, yet again, Kaeya would still be dead...
There were two questions that caught Venti off-guard the most, though. The first being when the detective leaned in over the table to get closer to Venti, he dropped his tone of voice a bit as if he was about to ask something he was not supposed to.
"Who, out of all the suspects, do you think is the most capable of murder?"
Venti choked on his spit. Of course he had been considering that very question himself, however the last thing he expected was for the detectives to actually ask him it. After Venti regained his thoughts and composure, he chuckled awkwardly before informing them that no one in particular came to mind. That was a lie. However, Venti wasn't 100% sure whether he wanted to just rat someone out without any proper evidence. At his reply, the office looked visibly unimpressed.
"Look, kid, it's important we know this. Besides, it's just your personal opinion after all, it doesn't mean that we are going to approach this person and immediately press charges. For now, this just stays between us."
Venti gulped, perhaps telling the officer his suspicions wouldn't be the worst thing he could do? Besides, this person has been bugging the back of his mind ever since this whole thing started.
"Scaramouche." He replied after a moment of hesitation, the police officer grunted in response and scribbled something in his notepad. Venti was still surprised by how onto this the cops were compared to the previous time loops. It seemed all it took was an actual knife to get involved for everything to be analysed intensely or... They might just be getting smarter with each time loop. Whereas Venti felt that with each time loop he was losing more of his braincells and his sanity.
After the officer was done writing what he was writing, he leaned forward again. His face somehow becoming even more serious leaving Venti on edge.
"Now for the second question, when we were searching bars for information on you, we found something quite... Illegal. Do you know anything about an underage bartender with cat ears?"
