Her smile faded quickly.
"Friends, yeah? Still friends?" Aletra laughed nervously, her voice growing shaky.
Aris glared at her angrily and slowly unsheathed the dagger, drawing out the metallic ring.
"I helped you! We had a deal, remember? " Aletra said, backing futher into the corner.
Aris did not answer.
She moved away from the fresh corpse on the floor towards Aletra.
Her steps were silent, muffled by the layer of dust on the wood.
All that broke the silence was Aletra's panicked breathing.
"You wouldn't." she said, the two words barely more than a whimper.
A cruel smile formed on Aris's lips as she raised the sharp knife and said two words.
"I would."
