Luke
Junior year is starting.
One more year to waste. One more year to cry. One more year of being a depressed dick.
I didn't want to comprehend the fact that today I had to get up, get ready, go outside, and... talk to people. I just wanted to stay in bed.
I just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up.
Knock. Knock.
"Lucas, you awake?" My mom whispered through my locked door.
I went under my covers for a few seconds before getting up and unlocking my door, signalling my mom from the other side of the door that i was awake and alive. I heard her walk back downstairs.
I walked to look at myself in front of my mirror and groaned. I tried puffing up my chest, trying to make myself look tougher. Possibly even more heavier. I was underweight, and everybody knew it. It showed. It's not that I wanted to be, I just had a fast metabolism I guess.
I opened my closet doors and shuffled through some clothes until i pulled out a band shirt. "Jimmy Eat World" I mumbled to myself. It was basically my childhood.
I pulled the shirt over my bare torso and picked up a pair of black skinny jeans from the hardwood flooring. I slipped myself inside of them and zipped them up.
Crreeeeakkkk.
I quickly wiped my head around to see who had opened my bedroom door, after realising it was just my mom I went back to trying to find my shoes.
"Luke, I made breakfast if you want some," She continued. "I just thought, since summer is over it would be nice to have breakfast for once, as a family."
I paused for a moment, my back towards her. A family? It was only my mom and me, is that a family? I would've thought a real family was a Full House kind of thing.
I shrugged.
I continued looking for my shoes, and once I did find them, I slipped them on and walked past her. I walked down the stairs, the house was so quiet it was eerie.
Once I made it to the kitchen I smelled something actually delicious. Pancakes. A smile tugged on my lips. I looked around the counter and took one. I then took a slip of paper and a pen and drew a smiley face. I planted it in the middle of the counter so my mom would see it.
I then gathered my school books and shoved them into my book bag, putting it over one shoulder. By the time I left the house I had finished my Pancake.
A/N: Hi guys, so this is my first ever fanfiction, and I'm hoping it won't be a total flop. I actually like the idea that i'm going with on this book, i think it's pretty cute and "original" i suppose. I haven't read a fanfiction with the same idea as mine. So anyway, i hope you'll add this story to your list + and keep reading? It'll mean a lot, trust me :) x
