I invited Claire home with me that day, which was AWESOME. Claire and I were already so close, we had a handshake, and nicknames already. She was "C" and I was "Katy".
I walked into my house praying on the inside mom wouldn't embarrass me.
Me: "Hey, Mom. This is Claire."
Moms facial expression showed how happy she was to meet Claire. My mom managed to at it cool though, impressive.
Mom: "Hi, Claire! I'm Sharon. Nice to meet you sweetie."
Claire: "Oh you too! Thank you for the welcome!"
Mom: "Alright, you kids go start your homework. Would you like a snack?"
I whispered to Claire asking what she wanted.
Claire (whispering): "Twinkies?"
Me (whispering): "Duh!"
Me: "We would like some Twinkies please."
Mom: "Go start your homework. Ill ring it right up!"
We thanked her and ran upstairs. When we reached my room, Claire stopped and widened her eyes.
Me: "C, Are you ok?"
C: "No. This room is.. Huge."
Me: "Is that bad?"
C: "Katy this room is AWESOME"
Me: "Why thank you!"
C: "How did you get your mom to pay for THIS?"
I paused. As previously mentioned, my mom spoils me rotten. My Cancer is very bad, and my mom is trying to make me live to the fullest. She game me this huge room, bigger than hers. It has a mirrored wall, A white, large, canopy bed, A large T.V mounted to my wall, and my ceiling was covered with a big chandelier.
Me: "Um, Luck, I guess."
C: "Really! What's your secret?"
Me: "I am about to tell you something extremely personal. You can never treat me and different."
C: "Your worrying me, Katy. What's up?"
Me: "Claire, I have Cancer."
