(Y/N) Pov

It's been many years since that day. Older brother and I have been visiting a kind old man that lives nearby. He taught me how to use Total Concentration Breathing and the knowledge of different types of breathing techniques. Older brother was out to get some new things for our home with Akito, so I went on my way to visit the old man, named Urokodaki Sakonji, with a few treats that I made to share with him. My older brother calls him old man though. The sun was almost rising as I'm arriving in front of his little home. But I felt a different presence inside. The presence seemed awfully like a demon, but it was too blocked out for me to tell. There was another presence up at the top of the mountain and seemed to be descending to Urokodaki's home.

Both new presences didn't feel threatening so I knocked on the door. "Urokodaki-sama, I brought treats!" I announced.

I opened the door to realize the presence inside was indeed a demon, but it seemed to be... sleeping? I decided to ask Urokodaki-sama later and sat down in front of him. "Ah, (Y/N), good to see you here. Is your brother with you?" he inquired.

"No, he went to go get some new things for our home..." I responded while slowly looking over at the sleeping demon in the room nearby. Urokodaki noticed where I was looking and said, "She is a good demon. I promise. I'm testing her older brother to see if he can become a demon slayer."

"What are their names?"

"The demon girl is Kamado Nezuko. The brother's name is Kamado Tanjiro."

As I was about to say something else, the door burst open, revealing a tattered 13-year old boy. "I... have... returned..." he panted.

He collapsed on the floor. As I looked through the other side of the door, the sun was rising. I looked back at Urokodaki-sama, "So you will train him to become a demon slayer?"

Urokodaki stared at Tanjiro for a while then nodded his head in agreement, "Yes, he will become a demon slayer. I will train him until his body breaks."

I sweatdropped a little when Urokodaki-sama said this, but I didn't mind. There was something peculiar about this boy so I decided to stay at Urokodaki's. I helped Urokodaki-sama move Tanjiro into the same room his sister was in and called my bird Akito. As Akito was sitting on the floor, I wrote a letter to my brother saying I was going to stay here for a bit. As I finished writing the letter and handed it to Akito, he gently grabbed it with his talons and flew away.

Urokodaki-sama went out to get some more firewood for the fire as I just sat there, mind empty, until there was some shuffling in the room the siblings were in. I looked over and saw the same boy staring at me. We had a little staring contest until I smiled a small smile at him. He opened his mouth to say something but then the door was opened by Urokodaki-sama with the firewood.

"Ah, you're awake now Tanjiro" Urokodaki-sama said as Tanjiro nodded, "Hello Urokodaki-sama! May I ask who this person is?" Tanjiro asked as Urokodaki-sama put the wood in the fireplace.

"He is a friend. His name is (L/N) (Y/N)." I looked over to Tanjiro and said a quiet hello with a small wave as my ears perked up. He smiled and waved a hello back.

Tanjiro's POV

I woke up feeling sore on every part of my body. As I was getting up, I smelled a peculiar smell outside of the room. I stood up slowly to see who it was and saw a boy about my age with (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes. What stood out the most was some... fluffy ears? On the side of his head. The ears twitched in my direction, then the boy turned to look at me and gave me a small smile, he looked kind of... cute...

I was about to ask something when Urokodaki-sama walked in. After asking, Urokodaki-sama introduced the peculiar boy as (L/N) (Y/N). He looked over at me again with his ears perked up and a small hello. I couldn't help but smile back and wave hello back.

As time went by, (Y/N) and Tanjiro did training together. Even if (Y/N) was done with training, it didn't hurt to have a memory jog. (Y/N) even taught Tanjiro some of his own tricks in mastering breathing and water breathing. Of course, Tanjiro asked (Y/N) why he had peculiar ears. (Y/N) blushed a bit and looked away shyly. Tanjiro, being the caring sunshine boy he is, got worried it offended him but (Y/N) shook it off and explained what he was. (Y/N) also said that mentioning/complimenting a dragon's ears when they are in human form is similar to asking someone out on a date...

Tanjiro blew a fuse.
