Y/n's pov

After I got ready I headed upstairs and saw my mom waiting for me. "You ready to go little bird?" She asks, "Yep!" I say opening the door and heading to the car. I hear my mom chuckle and see she's following after me after she locked the door, I got to the passenger side door and tried to open it but failed. "Uh can you wait for me to unlock the car first," my mother says chuckling.

Once we get into the car I ask "Can I play some music?" "Go ahead," she says. I grab the aux and connect it to my phone "What should I put on?" I ask looking towards my mother, "I don't know it doesn't matter to me what you put on," she says backing out of the drive way. I say nothing and put on one of my favorite songs called Nancy Mulligan by Ed Sheeran (video above)

I was twenty-four years old
When I met the woman I would call my own
Twenty-two grand kids now growing old
In that house that your brother bought ya

On the summer day when I proposed
I made that wedding ring from dentist gold
And I asked her father, but her daddy said, no
You can't marry my daughter

She and I went on the run
Don't care about religion
I'm gonna marry the woman I love
Down by the Wexford border
She was Nancy Mulligan
And I was William Sheeran
She took my name and then we were one
Down by the Wexford border

Well, I met her at Guy's in the second world war
And she was working on a soldier's ward
Never had I seen such beauty before
The moment that I saw her
Nancy was my yellow rose
And we got married wearing borrowed clothes
We got eight children now growing old
Five sons and three daughters

She and I went on the run
Don't care about religion
I'm gonna marry the woman I love
Down by the Wexford border
She was Nancy Mulligan
And I was William Sheeran
She took my name and then we were one
Down by the Wexford border

From the snow white streak in her jet black hair
Over sixty years I've been loving her
Now we're sat by the fire in our old armchairs
You know Nancy, I adore ya
From a farm boy born near Belfast town
I never worried about the king and crown
'Cause I found my heart upon the southern ground
There's no difference, I assure ya

She and I went on the run
Don't care about religion
I'm gonna marry the woman I love
Down by the Wexford border
She was Nancy Mulligan
And I was William Sheeran
She took my name and then we were one
Down by the Wexford border

I sang along to the song  till it was over, my mother was just laughing the whole time but don't worry she was still paying attention to the road. Then the next song started playing also my mother favorite song...

Until the next chapter.
