"Mom, I'm home,"

"Hey, honey!" Dumalo siya sa akin at niyakap ako.

"How are you, Mom?" I hugged her back.

"I'm perfectly fine. How was your business meeting? Ano, ayos ba?"

"Yup. Tiring,"

"Your looks can tell, though. Sige, rest na. Yaya Dory, pagtimpla mo si Ran ng milk ha?"

"Yes po, ma'am."

I said thank you to Mom and went upstairs.

"Oh my ghad!" I exclaimed when I saw Dad in front of my room!

"Dad! Oh my ghad! You're here?!"

I've never seen him for two months now!

"I missed so so much, Dad! Bakit ngayon ka lang umuwi!" Sigaw ko sa balikat niya, paiyak na.

"I missed you too, my princess. And sorry for that. You know my job, I just want to protect you and your Mom. Ayaw ko lang na kayo ang pag initan ng mga nakakalaban ko sa korte." He caressed my back.

"Oh my, I missed you, Dad. Don't go again, just stay here, can you? Besides, you've already spend 25 years of your life in the court. Just stay home with Mom, 'kay? We have enough savings, I have a good work and salary. What else do you want?" I pouted. Still hanging in him.

"Baby, you know how much I wanted to help other people to get the justice they deserve, right? I'm not doing this for the money, I'm doing this because this is my job, this is what I worked for, I want to help."

"But what about us?" Saka ako bumitaw sa yakap at hinarap siya. "Mom needs you. She wants time with you. You can do everything just to give justice to those who in need, but your wife just need a time from you, just a quality time with you. Yet you can't give her that. You're being unfair, you know that?"

Sadness crossed in his eyes. I really understand Dad.

"If you only know how much I want to be with your Mom, but I'm well committed on my work."

"And not in Mom?"

Natahimik siya sa tanong ko. I know he loves Mom, so his work.

"Dad, I love you. I'm... Sorry. It's just, when Mom is sad  because she's missing you, I'm feeling sad too. You need to make it up to her, ha? Bumawi ka!" Then I hugged him again.

"I love you, Dad. Thanks for coming home."

"Thank you, Ran. I love you too. You've grown so good."

"Mom raised me very well after all." Then we both chuckled.

"Okay, cut the drama." Then he broke the hug. "Change clothes now, we're gonna eat dinner."

"Mom, you didn't tell me Dad was home." Napanguso agad ako pag baba namin ni Daddy.

"He wanted to surprise you,"

"Yey, finally! We're complete!" I excitedly sat on the chair.

"Wow, fiesta ha." Dagdag ko pa nang mapansin ang pagkain. Ang daming putahe. Buttered shrimp, steak, Corden blue, kaldereta, at ang favourite ni Daddy, spam.
