Ashton

I entered the cafeteria thinking it would be filled with the same old people that i've had during Freshman and Sophomore year. But there were a lot of new faces that I've never seen before.

I examined the room trying to find a place for me to sit, it seemed as if all the seats were taken. I went deeper into the cafeteria, still searching. The cafeteria was filled with all new Juniors, including me. There was overlapping of chatter and people greeting and hugging each other.

"Hey, Ashton!" A familiar voice shouted.

I turned around and a large grin formed onto my face, "Michael!" I scurried over to him and gave him a tight hug. "I haven't seen you since Lauren's party!" I let go of him, he smelled of smoke. Probably smoked a joint before school.

"Yeah mate, I got a bit drunk. Sorry, I was suppose to drive you back home right?" He chuckled, stumbling back at the sudden action of affection.

"It's alright. I'm trying to look for a seat currently, can't seem to find any open spaces." I scratched the back of my neck, wandering my eyes around the cafeteria. I knew a lot of the people here, but not personally enough to just sit next to them on the first day of school.

"What about over there?" Michael suggested. He was pointing at the corner of the cafeteria, where it seems a girl was sitting at. Alone.

I thought about it for a minute, studying the girl. "Yeah, let's go." I quickly grabbed Michaels wrist to lead him to the table but he wouldn't budge. I looked at him and let go. "Aren't you coming?" I questioned, tilting my head slightly.

"Actually," He glanced over at a girl with long black hair who seemed to be waiting for someone. "I've got a girl. I'll catch up with you later, yeah? Hopefully we have some classes together."

And just like that he ran off.

"Yeah..." I mumbled to myself. I watched as Michael kissed the girl with the long black hair. I should introduce myself one day, I thought. I've never seen her, she was quite attractive to be honest.

I decided to go to the table anyway, even if Michael wasn't coming.

I started making my way to the table when I noticed the girl wasn't actually alone. There was a boy next to her. He probably sat down while I was watching Michael suck that girls face off.

I sat down on the seat right in front of the two, they didn't seem to notice, both of their heads were down. Were they siblings? No, one was blonde and the other was a brunette. I started tapping my fingers on the table and humming a tune when I felt a sudden grip on my wrist.

"Stop." The blonde boy commanded.

I obeyed, and he let me loose. "Um, sorry mate." I said, bringing my arms closer to my chest.

The boy lifted his head up and made eye contact. He wasn't bad looking. "What's your name?" I asked nicely.

He grunted and rolled his eyes. Wow, so he was that kind of boy, huh? "What's yours?" he finally said, at least this time, not in an annoyed matter.

"Ash... well, Ashton actually. But you can call me Ash, because it's a shorter version of Ashton, y'know? I've never seen you around, are you new? Or have I just never noticed you? You've got a cool lip ring there. Ever think about dying your hair? I have a friend named Michael who is obsessed, and let me tell you OBSESSED with dying his hair. But he pulls off all the colours, he looks good. My favourite colour on him was probably galax-"

"Shut the fuck up already!" Luke interrupted. He seemed pissed.

"I, uh, sorry." I apologised, shocked at his little outrage there. Right after I aplogised I was given my years schedule by a teacher I've never seen before. Probably a teacher that i'll be having classes with.

I quickly scanned through the schedule, quite pleased at the classes that i managed to get. I looked up at Luke, he was given his schedule as well. He didn't even bother reading it when he got it. Instead he got called up by a teacher.
Luke rolled his eyes, as if he knew what was going to happen.

He got sent to the office already.

This boy is probably one of those punk rock kids, I thought.
