The only thing I hear in the cold air is the crunching of leaves and twigs under my feet. I don't hear my heart beat anymore, as if its gone, like if he took it from me with out knowing it.

The trees taunt me as they sway back and forth, pushing me to turn around and leave.

But I can't.....

I have to find the other notes. My curiosity retreated a mind of its own and dragged me through this god-forsaken place. But it's helped me find the seven notes I so dearly clench on with my red stained hands. I feel satisfied that I'm so close to finding the truth, even if this was all at the cost of my close friends. As long as I see the end. As long as I lay my eyes on the treasure and fill my thirst of wonder with this achievement.

I've herd rumors that the man rewards those who find all the pages. Some say with gold, others say with jewels.

But the most interesting story I've herd is him giving you eternal life. The ability to live forever with all your youth and treasures. Yes, and it will be all mine. All this pain and torment will soon pay off.

One minute the wind is shrugging the trees, then, silent. Not even the crickets lay their insect music upon the night. I notice the clouds shift to unleash the glow of the beautiful moon. A bright light then points towards to a distance. It's the note! I just now it!

I force my feet to stomp the ground and cover more land. I push branches and bushes out of my way. The whispers begin to come on again. This time they are louder, faster. I can't understand what they are saying anymore. This has to be the last note!

Now I'm close enough to see it. A piece of paper stuck to a huge tree. The only tree in the middle of this small patch of dirt that makes a circle around it. The words on the paper get clearer as I get closer and closer.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I jump out of the forest and roll over to the dirt. Im sprinting to the tree. My hand reaches out and suddenly I grab it. The great feeling pulsates through my body and I hold up the note to the moon light to read it.

" No mercy" it reads.

That's strange for such a way to end this game. But I don't care. I have all eight notes. I won!

Yes! Yes! ............yes...

About five minutes pass and nothing happens. Why? I have all notes? Was their something I missed? Did I count wrong? No, impossible, I have all eight right here in my hands.

I hold them all up for him to see.

" Look! I have them all! I win!"

Nothing happens. I continue to province around the tree looking for a clue. Nothing.

" What else do you want! I have all your notes! They are mine! " I show off all eight, reading them aloud to prove to him.

Suddenly, my foot gets lagged onto something and I'm tugged forward. I fling my arms out to break my fall. When I land I immediately realize what I've done. The notes scatter across the floor.

" no no no no!" I crawl around like a roach struggling to find each one in the midst of the moonlight.

" Where are they!"

I grasp a few not my palms. Then the wind rolls in and takes them away from me.

" Give them back!!"

I'm screaming and shouting at the invisible entity.

Then, the static fades in. I now hear my heart beating, like the drums in a marching band.

" Wait I have them!"

A blood curling screech destroys my hearing and I'm blocked from the natural world as I'm wanted into a dimensional expulsion. My skin begins to literally rip apart itself.

No it can't end this way!!!

As I try to move my legs I'm grabbed by the shadow. The slick arms of the figure pull me in.

The screech becomes louder, louder than any natural sound should be.

I see him now. The tall slim body of pure evil.

My eyes refuse to close and now I'm trapped into his gaze.

His pale, blank face suddenly reveals the shape if a demon. The horrifying image takes over. I'm filled with the pain of those who I've left behind. The agony and torment seeps into the deepest core of my mind.

No! I scream.

I feel it. My soul being pulled away from my life body. I try to reach for his face, but then I see the black curtains fall slowly across my eyes. And now.......it's over.....
