Chapter 1: Amira ( August 2nd ) TEUSDAY

She fluttered her eyes open and smiled, the sun creeped through the window. She reached out her hand and touched the rays with her fingertips. That’s when she realized that it was too quiet. She turned to her alarm clock and immediately her heart dropped. It was already 8 o’clock. She was supposed to be at work an hour ago. She ran to her closet and pulled over a white blouse and a plain black pencil skirt. She put her curly hair into a bun and tucked away the strands that escaped the band.

15 minutes later she was in her car and driving to Starbucks. “You’re late” Danny called out. She sighed and ran up to him. He handed her two cups of coffee.

“You’re a life saver.” He smiled at her, his brown eyes sparkled. She shook the thought out and ran back to her car. It took just 5 minutes to drive to the Kennedy building. Amira ran inside and took the elevator to the 37th floor. She prayed that Mr. Smith was in a meeting and that he wouldn’t notice that she was late. The elevator doors opened and there stood Mr.Smith. He was wearing his dark gray suit, which he only wore for important meetings.

“You’re late.” He said in an annoyed voice.

“Im sorry.” She mumbled and followed him as he walked towards the meeting room. He cut his blonde hair so that it was short. It made his green eyes stand out. Again she didn’t let herself think about it.

“Get out your notepad and pen. I want you to take notes for me. The CEO is coming for the day and we need to be on alert. Now heres an order of starbuck’s drinks and get some donuts.” He handed her a hundred dollar bill and disappeared behind the glass doors. Amira sighed and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ears.

“Long morning?” Amira turned around to see Nola smiling at her. Nola was her roommate, she was the one that got Amira this assistant job.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Amira asked.

“I actually didn’t come home last night.” She could see a blush spread across Nola’s cheeks.

“Oh my gosh. Thats disgusting..” She began to walk towards the elevator.

“It was amazing Amira.. He was amazing.” Nola was now walking with her.

“Okay… Enough information.”

“Fine fine, we’ll talk more tonight.”

She pressed the button and went down to the first floor. When she got out she bumped right into a body. A pair of hands reached out to steady her.

“I am so sorry.” She said and looked up to meet a pair of bright blue eyes. He smirked at her and took his hands away.

“Its okay.” He ran his hands through his light brown hair and looked behind her.

“Oh sorry.” She giggled, but stopped herself. She stepped to the side to get out of his way. He gave her a tight smile and went into the elevator. She turned around, their eyes met once more. She stood like that until the doors closed. Closing her eyes she seemed to jump out of her trance. She walked through the main doors and went to her car. Getting in she turned on the A.C and made her way back to Starbucks.

Walking in, her eyes immediately landed on Danny. He was making some sort of coffee. She walked to the cashier and smiled.

“Here can I get this? Oh and extra hot please.” She pushed the piece of paper to the lady and paid. She stood by the counter watching as Danny started the order. When he saw the paper he turned around and smiled at her.

“I knew it was you when I read the order.”

“It’s gonna be a long day.” She sighed. He went back to work.
