'Shit. I'm late.' Giyuu thought this as he ascended a steep, snowy mountain, dodging trees left and right. He looked down from the cliff he was running on, and saw a red-heading boy being attacked by a demon with long, orange-tipped hair. The Water Pillar then unsheathed his sword and jumped down to behead the demon.

As the red-headed boy, now known as Tanjiro, started his travel to Sagiri Mountain, Giyuu's usually calm face became riddled with guilt. 'I apologize, for arriving late. I might have been able to save your family.'

Still thinking of Tanjiro, Giyuu started making his way back before being told of another mission to the north. 'Isn't that where Mount. Sagiri is?' Giyuu thought for a moment, before deciding, 'If so, after I'm finished I'll see how Tanjiro is doing. Maybe catch up with Urokodaki-san.'

He thanked his crow for the information, and started off.

'That.. took far longer than expected. Who would've thought. An entire family of demons overrunning a farm.' Giyuu said his goodbyes, and headed off to visit Urokodaki.

The pillar arrived at his old teacher's home, and slid open his door, remembering that Urokodaki became annoyed at the time knocking wasted.

"Hello?" Giyuu said, wondering if he was home, or training that boy.

"Yes, yes come in-," A man wearing a cloud-patterned kimono and red warding mask, stood there shocked, after all, the last time he'd actually seen Giyuu was when he left for his first mission. "Giyuu? What- on what occasion are you arriving for?" he said, supressing his surprise.

"Hello Urokodaki-san, I was just on a mission and wanted to stop by." He replied, looking past his former teacher to see Tanjiro sitting at a table in the middle of the room. "Hello, Tanjiro. I expect training's going well?"

The boy looked up from his tea, and looked over to reply. "It's absolutely ghoulish." He said with a smile and closed eyes, clearly exhausted.

"Sabito! Sabito! How was your first time training??" A younger, brighter Giyuu asked, filled with excitement.

"It was absolutely exhausting." The salmon-haired boy said, a small smile on his face and eyes closed.

Giyuu's eyes widened, 'Sabito.?' he thought of Tanjiro, who resembled Sabito, his dead childhood best friend, and fellow student under Urokodaki's care.

Quickly shaking it off, Giyuu walked over and tapped something into the latter's tea. Ground coffee beans. "I find that a small portion of this helps with a lack of energy." He paused, before reaching back into his pocket for his bag of coffee beans and placing it next to Tanjiro. "Don't drink it before bed, it'll keep you awake. And not too much, it can stunt your growth, just- trust me on that."

"Oh! Thank you so much Tomioka-san!! But,, are you sure? Do you have anymore?" Tanjiro asked, grabbing the bag and gesturing for Giyuu to take it back.
