Chapter 2 - First day

"You need to get up and go to school"

"5 more minutes.... WAIT WHAT?" I yell out in surprise once realising that Kaoru is standing over me

"You're starting in a new school. What? You think I'm just gonna allow you to drop out?" He answers

"I get that, but you could've at least told me yesterday, I could've been more prepared to hide my piercing and tattoos" I say with a yawn

"I thought it would be common knowledge, I'm starting to think you're just as dumb as that gorrila" and there he goes, obsessing over Kojiro... Again

"Ok ok, I get it, I'll get up"

"Good, your uniform is in the wardrobe and you need to be there in an hour, you can skate there if you'd like, but I've got work so I'm not going to be able to drive you there"

"Yea, yea, I've got it, just send me a pin so I know where to go" and as I say that I start to get ready

After getting dressed into a hoodie and my uniform I go downstairs and make me and my brother an omurice since they're quite simple and we both sit down to eat.

"So, once you get there, head to the headmaster's office and get your timetable, I assume you know what to do" Kaoru says, starting a conversation

"Yea, I know, I still wish you'd given me more time to prepare"

"Yea yea, I've sent you the pin, so you hopefully don't get lost"

"Ok, thanks" I say as we finish our meals and get ready to head out

Just as I'm about to leave, I can hear Kaoru shout at me to avoid roads and stay on the pavement. I know I'm dumb, but I'm not that dumb, well I am but you know, I won't get hit.

On my way there I see a guy about my age with red hair skating in the same direction as me, and he's wearing the same uniform. I assume he goes to the same school.

Honestly, he's kinda cute, and he can skate which is a bonus, I'll try to remember to try and talk to him at school.

Once I arrive, I go straight to the office and collect my timetable. I can see there's also a foreigner with blue hair doing the exact same, now I don't feel so bad about being the new kid. Also, why are there so many cute guys in this school!?

After collecting our timetables, we start walking in the same direction in awkward silence, so I decide to start a conversation.

"Hey, you're new right? Are you going to class 2-A too?"

Surprisingly, he replies, considering he seems like the quiet type; "yea, I am, I'm assuming you're also new? What's your name?"

"Yep, guess we're in the same boat, huh? I'm Sakurayashiki (Y/N), and you are?" I reply.

"Langa Hasegawa, nice to meet you"

"Yep, nice to meet you too"

Just then, we arrive at our classroom. We knock on the door and receive a "come in" from the teacher.

Langa enters first, and I follow behind. You can hear a few "they're cute" and "wow, they're kinda tall" from the girls in the class.

"Ok, why don't you introduce yourselves to the class?" The teacher starts "Just do it in the order in which you entered the classroom"

As he says that, Langa writes 'Langa Hasegawa' on the board and says "My name's Langa Hasegawa and I came here from Canada"

"Is that all?" The teacher inquires

"Is it bad?" Replies Langa

"Not really... You can sit infront of Reki, Reki please raise your hand" And the same redhead raises his hand. It's great that we're in the same class, makes it less awkward when I try to talk to him

I get snapped out of my thoughts as the teacher turns to me, "and you? Introduce yourself"

I go write my name on the board and turn around and start my introduction; "My name's Sakurayashiki (Y/N), but please just call me (Y/N) and I moved here from Tokyo. I enjoy skating and videogames, I hope we get along well" I say with a slight bow

A girl raises her hand, "by Sakurayashiki, are you Sakurayashiki Kaoru's brother?" she asks and I reply with a nod.

"Okay, you can sit next to Reki, I assume you know who he is now" the teacher says and I start to head towards my seat.

The teacher starts the lesson, I think it's maths, as I see the redhead, or Reki, staring at me with a wide grin and I swear I could see sparks radiating off of him.

"Ummmm, you okay there?" I ask, trying to hide my slight blush "You skate!?" He whisper yells

"Yep, I assume you do too since I saw you skating to school" I answer

"Yep! It's my favourite hobby, would you like to sit with me at lunch? He asks and I answer with a "sure" just as the teacher turns around to glare at us and we sink into our seats and stay quiet.

As the lunchtime bell rings, Reki and I grab our bento boxes as he drags me up to the roof to a quieter area

We sit down and open our bentos, and start talking chatting and eating our respective lunches.

"So, how long have you been skating for?" Reki asks

"Since I was about 3, but I bailed a lot back then since I was only a toddler, my brother would always help me tho, how about you?" I answer

"SINCE YOU WERE 3!?" Reki shouts, gaining the attention of some other students on the roof. "Sorry... Anyways I've been skating for about 5 years now, I'm pretty good if I do say so myself" which causes me to chuckle slightly

I guess he must've taken slight offense and asks "what? Do you not think I'm good?" Which causes me to slightly panic and answer with a quick "no! no! That's not what I was implying, I just like how confident you are with your abilities, it's a good thing"

"Ah, ok, no worries then" Reki answers with a smile as he asks "so how long did it take you to learn how to ollie? It took me about 2 months" Which makes me freeze

"Ummm, averagely I think it took me double that amount of time, although learning how to ollie made my footing so much better, but yea, it took me a while" I answer

"Cool! I mean everyone starts somewhere, and you've been skating for much longer than I have so you're probably either at my level or better" Reki says with a smile, I swear he could light up an entire room with that smile, he's just so bright.

After that, we just drift into general conversation about our lives, skateboarding and some other general topics, he lives with 3 younger sisters, that must be hell on earth, I don't know how he's sane.

As the bell rings, calling all students back to their classrooms, Reki starts talking once again. "Hey, would you like to come to the skate park later? I have to go work, but I'm free to hang out after"

"Sure" I reply " where do you work? And when does your shift finish? I could meet you there"

"Oh, I work in a skate shop called 'Dope Sketch'" wow, that's convenient, it's so close to where I live "you should pop in sometime, I'm sure there's gonna be something you like, also, I finish at about 5:30, it's a 2 hour shift" he answers

"Sure, I'll meet you there, maybe I'll get there early and look for some stuff for my board" I say as we take our seats and continue with the boring lessons until the end of the day.

A/N: I'm so glad I have free periods at school, otherwise I wouldn't have the motivation to write this lmao
