ONCE UPON A TRIP

SURPRISES ON A SPECIAL DAY

Frances' POV
Hay...... Being able to graduate from a school that you've always wanted to be in is a great opportunity, because it means that you survived four crazy, terrible and fun years of highschool. Oh nga pala, my name is Frances Precilla Gonzalez. School year just ended and it's summer. And today is the day I will celebrate my 18th birthday. Today, I woke up on the floor. I didn't know if I fell or I slept on the floor last night. Anyway...... Pumunta ako sa kitchen namin. Hmmm...... May naamoy ako na parang napaka sarap. Sa dining table namin, nakita ko yung breakfast na iniwan ni Mommy sa akin. Sa tabi nung pagkain, mayroong note.

Happy birthday. I just went out to buy my gift for you and I will come by your friends house to invite them over. Susunduin ko sila. Happy Birthday.

As soon as I was done reading the note she left on the table, I decided to get some juice from the refrigirator. When I was done eating and done washing the dishes, I heard some footsteps. I grabbed a pan and approached where I heard the footsteps. When I was about to hit someone, I felt a hand holding the pan and I let out a shriek. "Hoy! Calm down ka naman. Sinusurprise lang eh. Huwag mo namang tamaan ng pan si Anne." Sabi nung isa kong friend, her name is Christine. "Sorry naman. Hindi ba kayo marunong kumatok?" Sabi ko sa kanila. "Well marunong naman pero, surprise nga diba." Sabi nung isa pa, si Joanna. She has the 'logic power' sa aming lima. "Well you have a point pero dahil sa 'surprise' nyo, I almost hit Anne with a pan on her head." Sabi ko while my arms are crossed above my chest. "No that was fine. Alam ko naman na you were just scared so no biggie." Sabi ni Anne. After our weird conversation, we all went upstairs and talked about our plans in the future.

"I wanna be a journalist. I wanna travel around the world and discover new things." Sabi ko. Well it is true, I really want to be a journalist but I also want to be a news caster. "I want to be a pediatrician. I want to help others especially the kids." Sabi ni Christine. Before Anne could start, my mom barged in my room looking excited.

"Hi baby. Happy birthday." Sabi ni mommy. "Hi mom. Where have you been? You said that you were going to buy my gift." Sabi ko.. "Ay oo nga pala. Here." She said while lending her arms. I was so shocked when I saw her gift: 5 tickets to london for the whole summer.
