Chapter 44. Graduation

"Good morning Kai." Ji Eun whispered.
"Good morning." Kai sniffed, moving Ji Eun away a bit.
"Happy graduation." Ji Eun smiled.
"Yeah, same goes to you too." Kai replied lifeless.

Ji Eun had nothing to do but to just look at him and take whatever he throws. Ji Eun stood up and wore her slippers. She went directly to the walk-in cabinet to get something. When she got back, she was already holding a black box. She knelt down leveled to Kai and the lampshade in front of his direction.

"Kai, here's my graduation gift for you." Ji Eun said and placed the box on the lamp table in front of Kai.
"What shit is that?" Kai asked.
"My gift." Ji Eun smiled.
"Great, yeah, thanks." Kai replied as if he was a total jerk.
"Okay, I love you." Ji Eun smiled and stood up, pretending like she wasn't hurt at all.

Ji Eun took a shower and changed her outfit. She wore an oversized T-shirt and shorts. She tied her hair up before cooking for Kai and herself.

After a few hours, Kai went down to the living room.

"I'm gonna go out. See ya." Kai said and hurriedly ran for the door.
"Where are yo-?" Ji Eun asked but then got cut off. "Kai.."

Ji Eun felt her tears streaming down her face. Everything happy when she was with Kai was on play all over her mind. The moment they met, the moment they were having their family dinner, the moment everything was talked about, that day when she fell in love with Kai, and that wedding day. She couldn't forget any of it. It left her crying and broken inside.

Ji Eun was alone in the house. She walked up to the stairs and entered their room. She saw Kai's wedding ring on the dresser. She was really sad to see it not worn by his husband. She was wearing hers-and all she did was just wear his ring on her thumb. She later went down and watched the TV.

5:30 PM
Ji Eun's P.O.V.

I went to the walk-in closet and wore the things Ji Yong oppa sent me. The dress, the necklace, the shoes, and the bag. I didn't have the time to go to the salon and let them fix my hair, so I was the one to fix my hair and do my make-up. I had on light make-up-foundation, little eyeliner, blush on, eye shadow, and inner lip tint. After so, I curled my hair and got hitched. I looked at the mirror, and realized that the makeup I wore covered the bruises I had. They're starting to fade, but they're still painted on my body.

The others finally went to school. The other idols who are studying in the school were there, too. Red Velvet, Winner, BTOB, and others. The camera men and the other pre-debut students all stopped when EXO came out of their car. Kris, Suho, Chanyeol, Lay, Xiumin, Tao, Luhan, Baekhyun, D.O., Chen, & Sehun walked the red carpet smiling at every photographer of their graduation. Their graduation looks like a star-studded event because everything is so magical. After they passed, Kris noticed something.

"Why are these people whispering something? They're like buzzing." Kris asked like he was faking a smile to the cameras.
"I don't know, but I heard some students a while ago asking where's Kai." Suho replied, faking a smile.
"Aish. Kai." Kris replied. "D.O., go call Kai. Ask him where he is. Please?" 
"Okay hyung, I will." D.O. replied.

And just like he was tasked to do, D.O. phoned Kai.

"Hey Kai! Where are you right now?" D.O. asked.
"I'm driving, going home." Kai answered.
"What? Where the heck are you? It's already 5:50! Don't tell me you're not yet wearing your suit!" D.O. panicked.
"No, I'm wearing it already. I was with Hyolyn a while ago. I'm coming home to pick up Ji Eun." Kai answered.
"What?! Hyolyn and you?! What did you do?!" D.O. panicked.
"Aish, enough questions. Bye hyung." Kai dropped the phone call.

Kris looked at D.O.

"Well?" Kris asked, hoping for an answer.
"He said he's just gonna pick Ji Eun up. But he's.." D.O. stuttered.
"He's what?" Kris asked.
"He was with Hyolyn a while ago." D.O. answered.
"What?" Kris reacted.
"He told me." D.O. replied.
"Why is he cheating on her? I mean--" Kris got cut off.

EXO went inside their auditorium where their graduation will be held. Meanwhile, Kai finally got home and honked the car to make Ji Eun aware that he's waiting outside. After a few minutes, Ji Eun went out and got in the car.

While in the car, Kai can't deny--Ji Eun looks absolutely wonderful like an angel. But even though, it was like he was no longer in love with his wife, his princess. He was attracted, but seemed like he had no more feelings.

"Kai, come, give me your wrist." Ji Eun smiled.
"Why?" Kai snobbed.
"Just give me." Ji Eun ensured.

Kai moved his hand to Ji Eun. And focusing on the road, Kai felt something wrapped around his wrist. And when he looked at it, it was a watch.

"What is this?" Kai asked, looking unamused.
"My gift to you." Ji Eun replied, smiling.
"Oh, cool. Thanks." Kai replied like a jerk.

Ji Eun stopped and stared at Kai. On the other hand, Kris, feeling so uneasy, decided to call Ji Eun and ask where they are.

"Guys, I'm just gonna go out, okay?" Kris asked permission.
"Okay~" All of the boys answered.

Kris was walking himself out. Then back to Ji Eun and Kai.

"Are you alright?" Ji Eun spoke softly.
"Yup." Kai answered, biting his lip like a bad boy while focusing on the road.
"Really?" She asked one more time.
"Yes, fuck!" Kai shouted. "You're so irritating!" 
"Why are you suddenly being like this?!" Ji Eun, who couldn't hold all the pain in, shouted back. "You're not the same Kai I married!"

Kai, started to fury.

"I don't fucking love you anymore, okay?! I don't! I don't go home anymore because I'm living with somebody else! Can't you fucking think about that, huh? Are you still the same stupid girl I met?! Ahh, shit. I love her and the reason why I'm only staying with you because I'm just using you. You two are both different. She's perfect, she's everything. You? Stupid and you can't make me happy like she do!" Kai speeded up the car. He was going fast. "Got it, huh? I don't love you anymore so don't fucking force yourself to me!"

Ji Eun's world stopped and fell because of what she heard. It left her in tears and emotionally destroyed. She was so afraid that Kai will leave her. 

"Kai, slow down the car... Please.." Ji Eun softly pleaded.

But Kai did not listen. He was acting deaf.

"Kai, please slow the card down." Ji Eun, once again, pleaded.
"No!" Kai insisted.
"Kai! Please stop the car!" Ji Eun shouted and tried to get a grip of the wheel.
"Ji Eun!!" Kai shouted in an angry tone.
"Kai, stop!" Ji Eun held the wheel as Kai continues to grab it back.

All of a sudden, there was a blind curve they were driving ahead. Little did they know that there was a truck on the other side of the road. Right at the moment when Kai had his hands back to the steering wheel, it was also the moment when they got right up to the truck. But it was too late to drive away, Kai steered the wheel to the side which made them crash so hard to the truck.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Kai, Ji Eun, and the driver shouted as they were about to crash.
