You were always told by your parents that the Bakers were good people. They were right Jack and Margeurite Baker were very nice people, and their daughter Zoe was your best friend. Their son Lucas, however, had never really shown any kindness to you. Your childhood consisted of constant visits to Zoe on the Baker property. At the time they lived in the old house which was gorgeous when you were a child. As time started to pass they built another house on the property. A colonial style home which was not odd for the town you lived in. You yourself lived in a colonial home, but theirs was special. It had secret passages and it was massive, but then again the Bakers were a wealthy family in your community. As you got older you and Lucas had grown to care for one another. Romantically. So you started dating and it made his parents ecstatic, but Zoe was not so happy.
You were once again visiting the Bakers, but this time a storm hit. You had known it was coming, but you had hoped you'd beable to make it home before it started. You overestimated yourself with your timing, and got stuck with the Bakers at their house. You called your parents to let them know about your situation, and that you'd be staying a while to help them get the property sorted. That just meant more time with Lucas and Zoe. Zoe spent her time with her Ma getting the house back together. You and Lucas had gone to assess the rest of the damage in the bayou with his Pa. You and Lucas were down by the old mines when you spotted a ship.
"Hey Lucas! We've got a new shore decoration!" He ran over to you from where he was in the mines and gaped at the ship infront of you. "How did a tanker get all the way over here anyhow?" You started to walk towards the ship, but he grabbed your shoulders.
"I think we should wait until we have Pa with us. It might be dangerous and I don't want you to get hurt going in alone." He told you as he started moving you to another area.
"Okay, but what if there are people over there that are hurt and need help? Besides I won't be alone I'll have you with me." He tightened his grip on your shoulders.
"(Y/n) please. Let's just wait until we have my Dad with us. I've got a bad feeling about that ship." He said in finality not allowing for any plan that wasn't thought out first. As you were walking away you heard a groan and slight movement.
"Hello? Is anyone out here?" You waited in silence with Lucas not too far ahead listening with you. You shrugged it off when you got no response and headed back to the Baker Estate. Once you walked back in you went straight to Jack.
"Pa there's a tanker that crashed in the bayou. We should check it out." He smiled at the name you used for him.
"Alright we'll go and check it out tomorrow mornin. Right now it's time for supper then we'll get some rest. Sound good hun?" Jack asked as you made your way to the dinner table.
"Yeah that sounds good to me." You took your usual seat next to Lucas at the table and dug into Ma's dinner. "Nothin better than your roast Ma." You told her and she smiled at you then thanking you for your compliment.
~The Next Morning~
You woke up early so you could go with Lucas and Jack to investigate the tanker. Once you got to the same area you were at the day before you started searching the groan you had heard. Lucas and Jack stayed close to you at all times due to your tendency to wander. You found a woman laying on her stomach in the mud, and you rushed to her side.
"Hello?" You shook her a bit, but she still didn't wake up. You started to wander if she was even still alive so you felt for her pulse. When you found it you called out. "Pa this one's alive!" He moved to your side and you moved out of his way so he could have better access to her. As you moved you caught sight of something else and ran in its direction. You heard Lucas running after you.
