The clock hit 9:50 PM, as Licorice cookie lit up the match in his hand. He held it up before throwing it at one of the nearby houses. Soon after, screaming filled the village.
I stood next to him, my hand on his shoulder, his eyes sparkling as he succesfully fulfilled his task.
But I had to go, to prepare myself both mentally and physically for what I wanted to do. Haha.
I looked up at the sky, with the screams still filling the air. I took a deep breath, and it turned 9:55.
I went to the center. Licorice was already there, at the sakura tree.
I walked over to him, as the buildings slowly turned to ashes one by one, but the tree remained untouched.
- "Hey, Licoirce."
- "What is it? Hurry up and tell me what you wanted, or we will leave this place without a few limbs or so!"
I sighed, as a slight blush went over my face. I cleared my throat before shifting my weight from one foot to another.
Well, they always say actions do more than words or whatever.
I pulled him close, until our faces were inches away.
My lips were on his, a cold feeling running down my spine as our bodies melted into eachother. I tightened my hand on his waist and ran one up his back, pressing him against my chest.
He put his hand on my chest and pushed me away, his face red as a tomato.
- "Red velvet... Wha- what was that supposed to be?!"
- "You know Licorice..." I looked down at the ground. "I... like you."
I blurted out, as the calm sound of fire crackling filled the silence that was left after my words. The smaller boys eyes widened, as he seemed to doubt his ears for a great second. But instead of the warm smile I expected to see on his face, was a expression of disbelief.
- "Red velvet... I'm sorry" He stopped "I don't feel the same. I love another."
I didn't say a word. I just walked off into the distance, as the other cookie was left in confusion.
