Prologue

    He took another drag of his cigarette. He looked over the small backyard, chuckling.

"It won't be long now until I have more than this small square of land," He said to himself. "I should probably quit smoking. It's not good for either of our bodies, they say. Any diseases that could kill her would compromise my plans. Besides, I think her mom is starting to suspect something."

He glanced down to the window on his right, looking into the dark window that belonged to Arya's mother's. He thought about how easy it could have been to dispose of her, but, he shrugged, she was a valuable resource in making sure this accursed, feeble body was able to survive.

He yawned, looking out at the brightening sky, and he knew he didn't have much time left until Arya would be awake, and it's for the best that she wakes up in the same place she fell asleep at. He coughed and put the cigarette out, burning the rest of it with a flick of his finger.

"Well that was redundant," he mused to himself as he turned to the balcony door. With another chuckle, he opened up the door and felt the cool air conditioning on his skin. "Maybe this time when she wakes up, it won't be as painful."

He climbed into the soft bed and as the painful cramps began and the sun's warmth reached his face, he fell into his slumber, just in time for Arya's alarm to go off.
