Chapter 1: The beginning of the end

Princess POV
     I was on top of the castle roof rummaging through my treasure box. There's a skylight in my bedroom that leaves a nice indent in the roof for hiding things. My box was quite cluttered, so I was throwing things out and let them sit off to the side. I was about to grab my book of fairy tales When I heard someone call my name. "Princess Arabella!" They called. It was Scarlett. She's a newbie maid so I knew I had time to at least get down to the palace walls instead of the roof.

     I bolted across the singles when I realized I knocked a few down. 'sh*t' I thought to myself. I was still in my horse riding boots. They are stronger then my usual bare feet. I saw the tree that I use to get on the roof. I swiftly flew in between the branches that I hadn't broken off and landed on the castle wall. I wasn't too worried about falling because this section of the wall was the thickest. I booked it across the wall. The wall was quickly decreasing in width. I finally made it to the edge of the maze made of yellow roses. I jumped in the middle and made my way to the secret pavilion in the heart of the garden.

I sat there for a while waiting for Scarlett to catch up. She saw me while I was on the wall, so I can assume she's close. My father really needs to up his game when he hires maids, all the newbies take a few weeks to catch on to my hiding spots. That is, if they go that long without quitting. My lady's maid quit recently, so I think that Lucy was promoted from housemaid. I hope not, I hate Lucy. If Lucy wasn't promoted then Scarlett would be the newest kitchen maid, because Ophelia quit. I looked down and noticed the stain on my dress. I was about try and get it out when I saw Scarlett.

     "Princess! What happened to you? You have a leaf in your hair and your dress is covered in dirt and grass stains. You can't see your father like this! Let's go get you straightened up. I- errr- do you know the way out Princess?" She said all this in about 2.3498 seconds.

I lead Scarlett out of the maze and she made me go change into a nicer dress. (Example except not on a dog and it stops right above her ankle with no train)
