Chapter 16

"Hey, lovebird" Joy says to me as I wake up.

"Shut up" I reply whacking her on the head "what was that for" she says rubbing her head "don't call me lovebird" I say as she shouts "LOVEBIRD" and runs out of our dorm.

"JOY" I shout too lazy to chase after her.

After like 12 minutes Joy walks back into the dorm, "you took long" I say to her "oh, I was on the field with the girls" she replies.

I get out of bed and look out the window and majority of the school is out the field "what's going on?" I ask her "nothing, it's just really sunny so hurry and get changed cause all the girls are waiting for you" she replies throwing a white sleeveless dress at me.

I go to the bathroom, brush my teeth and have a quick shower.

I get out the shower and blow dry my hair and put the dress on, which reaches just above my knees, put on my white air maxes on and tie my hair up in a messy bun.

"Come, let's go now!" says Joy impatiently.

"But I haven't had breakfast yet" I complain.

"Oh, seriously!" say Joy.

"Why are we in a hurry, anyway?" I ask.

"Because, wait... I don't know..." she replies.

"No, I remember! Lily said she's got huge news for us" she adds.

"Oh okay, allow breakfast then" I say to Joy.

We walk out the school and onto the field.

"Where are they?" I stop and ask Joy.

"There" she says pointing at the girls, who are sitting in a circle.

We start walking, when I hear whistling, I turn to look at who it is and to my surprise I see Dylan and his crew whistling at me.

"Ignore it" Joy whispers to me, so I turn back around and walk on.

We reach the girls and sit.

"About time" says Lily in a joking tone but I don't say anything.

Just to let you know, I haven't spoken to April or made any eye contact with her since she technically lied about her and Jacob.

"So, what's the big news?" I ask.

"Well..." Lily says, going bright red.

"I... errr... I got a date for the dance..." she says.

"What the..." I say in shock "Who in the whole world deserves my bae" I say.

"His name is! His name is! His name is Alfie!" Joy sings, which is kind of creepy. "Is he cute?" I ask.

"Hell yeah!" Kelly shouts.

"Oops! I didn't mean it like that" Kelly says to Lily.

"No worries" Lily says.

"Well, that leaves Vicky, Joy, Kelly, Narissa and I left." I say.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you guys will find dates as well." Says Lily with a smirk.

"You can cross me off the list already. 'Cause I'll have my date soon, right Tash?" says Vicky smiling at me.

Knowing what she's thinking of, I smile back at her awkwardly and quickly look at Joy, trying to get her to help me out.

Right at that moment, Joy comes to the rescue.

"Oh! I just remembered, Tash hasn't had breakfast yet." she says as she stands and grabs my arm forcing me to stand.

"Yeah...I'll see you guys later." I say to the girls and go with Joy.

When we're far enough from the girls, I stop and say to Joy.

"How am I going to get Dylan to go with her? I don't know what to do..." she turns around, looks at me confused and asks "What do you mean?" "You know what I mean! This whole love triangle situation with Vicky, Dylan and I. I mean, I feel so awkward around them..." I explain.

"Urgh! Just pretend it never happened." She says sounding quite casual and starts walking again.

"Easier said than done" I mumble under my breath and follow Joy.

"Yo, Tash!" A deep voice shouts across the field and I feel everyone staring at me. I look around to see who's calling me and I see that is Jacob.

I seriously don't like the way so many people are staring at me and Joy.

"Yeah? What do you want from her?" Joy says seriously.

"Oh, Dylan needs to ask her something" he replies with Dylan by his side smirking.

From the corner of my eye, I can see Lily and the girls approaching us.

"What do you fucking want?" Joy says, boiling up.

"Calm yourself!" Jacob says and I feel Lily next to me and she whispers in my ear.

"What's going on?" I stand there numb and shocked, not being able to answer. Dylan steps forward and says "Will you go out with me?" My heart drops dead.
