"Your next date will be tonight, be ready by five sharp, if you're late again" my father paused, a look of fury passing through his dark golden eyes, he cleared his throat, "I won't go as easy on you as I did last time."

A shudder ran through my spine. I do remember not being locked up as long, but only because a new Alpha accepted a date with me so quickly.

I bowed my head in respect, "Yes Alpha, I understand."

"I still don't understand why your mother wanted a second child, and for the Goddess to give us such a useless one," he huffed and shook his head, "Go back to your quarters, I'm tired of looking at you."

I bowed my head again, my dark hair falling past my face. I backed out of his office. Once the guard closed the door, only then did I stand and turn to go back to the space I called my own. It wasn't much; a small room in the furthest part of the pack house. My parents wanted to be sure the rest of the pack saw me as rarely as possible.

I opened the door to the tiny room, calling it modest would be an understatement, it fit a single, child size, twin bed, a chest of drawers, and a small vanity. There was one door that led into a small bathroom with only the necessities; a tub/shower, a sink with no mirror, and a toilet. I had outgrown the small room years ago, but asking to be moved anywhere else wasn't an option; I remember asking to be moved up to the pack floor when I was 10.

"And why would we move you there?" My mother asked with disgust.

"Mother-" I started, but was cut off with a slap to the face that made tears well in my eyes.

"You are never to call me that, have you no respect for your Alphas," it wasn't a question.

"M-my apologies... Luna," I corrected myself and stood back up straight with my head bowed, hands crossed in front of me, "I just wish to go to the pack floor because I've almost outgrown my bed and there isn't room for a bigger one in my current room." A tear slipped down my cheek.

"You will stay in that room until you find your mate and leave this pack, is that understood?" My father finished the conversation.

A trimmer shook my body and heat filled my cheeks, "Yes Alpha, Luna," I bowed my head lower to each of them and turned to take my leave, the burning of salty tears brimming my eyes as I stepped out of the office.

That was the only, and last time, I asked to be moved from this room. I looked at the clock on the wall, it read 2:42pm. I needed to be at the office to be picked up for my date at 4:45pm to not get punished, so I had 2 hours to get ready for my date. A knock on my door pulled me from my thoughts. They didn't wait for me to say anything and in came one of my mothers' maids, Stella.

"Hello hun, ready to start?" She gave me a soft smile, her brow pulled together.

"Do I get a choice," a small, sad chuckle left my lips.

"I'm afraid not," she sighed, "But look on the bright side, at least you get to leave the pack grounds for a while!" She walked over to me as I sat at my vanity with a sad smile. Stella always did my makeup and dressed me before a date so I didn't look bad and embarrass my Alphas. She also tried to cheer me up before my dates.

"Stella, do you think I'll ever find my mate?" I asked as she started my makeup.

"Of course love, the Moon Goddess has someone special for all of us, not everyone finds their mate right after they turn 16, it takes some people years," She explained to me sympathetically.

Stella was one of the few wolves I knew who didn't have a mate yet, she was almost 30, she had soft brown hair and the richest chocolate brown eyes, she was tall for a woman, maybe 5'9", and very curvy with lovely child birthing hips. She had moved to several different packs to try and find her mate after she turned 17 is what she's told me. This isn't a super uncommon thing amongst werewolves; to move around and look for your mate.
