A/N - Hi, so thanks for 340+ reads! Do you think we can get to 500 reads? And 100 votes? I had a huge idea yesterday and have previously thought about how I'm going to end this but... now I know how I'm going to get there so I'm getting closer and closer to the end each day. That's sad for some, I know but... I do have a sequel idea so don't fret because there probably will be more after this.
I tap Asher's shoulder and he pulls apart abruptly and opens his eyes. I point to the corner of the room and his eyes follow. "I've never seen that before... Our mums probably planned to put it there to see if we've kissed," he says in a worried tone.
"But why would they want to know if we've kissed or not?" I ask looking nervously at the camera I spotted in the corner.
"Well..." he leans in closer and begins to whisper in my ear, "the other day when your mum was here, I heard our parents talking about that if we have kissed it could really settle the deal."
"But.... what deal?" I ask him.
"I wouldn't have a clue, but I know we have to figure it out."
...
"Eden," Asher says turning towards me away from his computer screen, "have you stopped flipping coins recently?"
Fear fills my body from head to toe as I look up to the camera. How does he know I'm a coin flipper? And why does he want to know? Do I answer truthfully? What if mum finds out? "No," I say slightly loudly in case my mum heard him ask, I lean in closer towards his computer and type three simple letters. Y E S. He looks at me and gives me a weary but happy smile. He gestures for me to read the information on the screen.
Coin Flipping is an old tradition only completed by the females of the house. It dates back many years and there are still people today. Some say there is still some magic to it and coin flippers can feel very connected to others from coin flipping families. It is known that most coin flippers marry others who come from coin flipping families. A simple kiss can really build the connection between 2 people from coin families. Kissing a coin flipper can really add to the chances of you being together but can be cancelled out if one moves far away for a very long period of time. The connection can often be felt as though you are bonded together in a way like no other.
If you stop coin flipping the connections can often be stronger as you are refusing to let the coins choose how your relationship will go. Stopping can also be a very dangerous thing as the coins aren't as in control of you as they used to be and you may not know how to live a life and make the right decisions.
I stop reading and decide that I'm going to really stand up to mum and stop her from flipping coins for good. Yes I'm nervous about the dangerous part but the coins don't know that I'm free to make my own decisions and am pretty darn good at it.
