Mina's POV:
I was tightening the belt that was around my waist when Claire barged in. She scanned the room until she saw me. Yes, she was my best friend, yet she was dumber than rocks. I told her to start knocking on my door, what if I had been naked?
She squealed as she jumped on my bed, kicking her feet in excitement. She was gushing about how the cute mafia boys were going to be at the party earlier. With her stupid ass, I wouldn't be surprised if she forgot she was in the mafia completely.
"Did you see them, they're jaw droppingly hot!" She squealed again.
I replied with a small nod. Men aren't my favorite. I was more excited about the ladies, I haven't got some in a minute and I needed a painkiller. I was only going there for hot chicks, Claire, Leah and Jared.
"Claire, come help me tie my tie." I demanded, I can't tie a tie for some reason. It's impossible for me. And I get upset every time I do it wrong.
"What's the magic words?" Claire asked teasingly, staying on the bed. She was most likely not gonna move until I said please. I hated that.
I didn't want to but I had no choice. "Please." I scowled. She finally got off the bed and went to tie my tie. She rarely wore ties so I always wonder how she knows how to tie one. When she's done I nod as a thanks.
"I don't even want to go to this party." I muttered while walking out of the room, Claire close behind. I opened my phone, and texted my driver we were on our way down.
"Leah, Craig, hurry up!" I yelled to them. Claire, Leah and Craig were the only people I could let my guard down with. They were also apart of the mafia, Claire and Leah were our best assassins. Craig was really good a knives, like astronomically good. I started to hear them racing over to me and Claire. I rolled my eyes, annoyed yet amused. Leah beat him of course. We all walked out of the house and got into the limo.
It was obvious everyone was excited. I was not on the other hand. I wanted to go home and sleep away my problems. Craig was gay so he was there for the dudes, Leah was only coming to keep him on a leash. No one but me needed to be there, yet they were all coming. That's what makes them good friends. They know I don't want them there. But, they still show up to keep me company.
I was so lost in my thoughts I couldn't hear Claire yelling at me that we were here. Damn, that's embarrassing.
"EARTH TO MINA!" She yelled. I nudged her, leaving the car. I stretched my legs and made sure the pins were still in my hair.
The house was huge and reeked of insecurity. We walked in and all eyes were on us. There were about 5 people in the corner gossiping, but they stopped when we got in. It's like we made that much of a difference, I wasn't even the boss. Leah immediately flipped everyone off, she's always been rude like me. Yet, I still glared at her and hit her on the back of the head.
As soon as everyone got used to us being there they went back to normal. I gulped down a vodka with coke, the burn soothed me. Claire met me over here, but she got beer instead of vodka. Loser. She punched me in the shoulder and pointed to what looked like a couple people in the back.
"Wanna chill with them?" She asked, and I knew if I said no she would beg. She begged because she knew I thought it was annoying and I would say yes. I ended up shrugging my shoulders and walking over there with her. She was holding onto me for support, she was a light weight. She didn't like drinking a lot, so when she did she usually puked her brains out.
She let go of me and stumbled into a guys lap, i'm guessing he could tell she was wasted so he just dealt with it. Some guys can be good, I guess. I sat down next to a girl and put my arm around her waist. She jumped at my touch and I found it cute. She glanced at me and I gave her a smirk in return. She looked away, cheeks pink. I was almost gonna make a move but then I saw Leah and Craig arguing with someone.
I quickly walked over there, and Craig and Leah were pissed. Leah looked like her veins were gonna pop out of her skin. Craig was hiding behind her with an upset look on his face.
"What happened?" I muttered to Craig. He pointed to the bruise on his wrist. That set me off. I punched the dude in the jaw. I saw him stumble, Leah tried to jump at him.
"Let him get up, let em get up." I said quietly. As soon as he did I punched him in the nose. I felt badass, take that back. I know i'm badass. His friends seemed to get the hint that if they didn't grab him I was gonna do worse. They quickly grabbed him by the ear and dragged him to a different room. That totally ruined my mood.
"He was hitting on me, and when I tried leaving he tried to drag me away." Craig was on the verge of tears. That man infuriated me. I walked over to Claire, ready to go back home. I wanted to get out of here, everyone here was a psycho. Didn't know any decency. I grabbed Claire by her ear, like a good friend should.
"Ow ow ow." She pretended to be super hurt. I knew she wasn't but I didn't crack a smile. She elbowed me, trying to get my attention. I let her go and looked where she was pointing. From there I saw the prettiest girl ever.
