THE FEELING OF PRIDE HAS CROSSED JANIS quite a few times in his life. But none of them was when he got a good grade in school.

The first time he felt the pride take over his mind was when his father died. At the funeral he was there next to his mother, knowing he would be the man of the house now, even thought being only thirteen. The second was when he was twelve years old and didn't cry when Sindy Beking told him she didn't like him in front of the whole school. A few more were there but they were mindless none of theme could compare to the pride he was forcing now.

Janis was walking down the school's hallway, all of his his attention focused on his history project about the Cold War. It was safe to say he was nervous, if he made it to classroom with project being all in the right pieces then his therapist would leave him alone about his lack of self-pride.

Suddenly it was like his wall of fake self-pride was crushed with the weight of another body hitting into his. Without wanting to the grimace he hated most appeared on his face, this grimace was following him his whole live.

"Watch where you walk ." His breath hitched and he finally looked up when he heard the husky voice of George Carter.

Everyone in school knew George in different ways. The cringiest way was how the 'Georgies' aka his fan group, knew him as. They all believed that someday one of them would marry him and have his babies, but if we are more realistic no one except them thought that. Еver since in 6th grade he finally talked to them, the Georgies started calling him 'Georgie'.

And the people that knew him best were George's group. Natalie, George's girlfriend, always clinging to his arms in some way. They were like the perfect couple in everyone's eyes.

David, who was George's cousin , was also in the same friend group. Dave was like a Brother to George, they were closer than George and Dimitri, who transferred in their school from Russia in 5th grade. He was George' best friend, but if you asked them , they wouldn't say that of course.

And the rest were meaningless, some of them too nice for their good and the rest too rude.

"S-sorry" the shorter boy answered. Another thing that was in the way of his journey to self-pride: stuttering.

"'S-sorry', loser." George just stared at him with narrowed eyes as one of his friends mocked Janis .And without looking back at the brunette boy, George walked away from his future .

"No way , you actually stuttered." Danny laughed, as Jan told her about what happened before. Danny aka Janis's best friend .

They were in the cafeteria now and Janis had just told her what happened. He had to bear it, even if he knew she was going to tease him about it the whole school year. When Danny stopped laughing, she didn't noticed
the way Janis was chugging his water.

"So, you like him?" she asked bluntly, as she looked at him with her eyebrows lifted, at which Janis choked on his water. 'Is she crazy? Something is probably going on with her head, again.'

''What, no, he is a boy, and I am a boy?" after clearing his throat ,Jan said with nervous voice.

"Yes, and I'm a lesbian', duh." she said like it was obvious. At this Janis just scoffed and continued poking his food. "No, don't scoff at me like that. I'm think about your future, you haven't had any relationship since Sindy Beking.''

''Could you stop please?'' he without looking at her .''I don't wanna talk about my...my realionship life.'' When he looked up Danny was wearing one of the weirdest look of all.

"What relationship life, dude? You have none. I've never seen‐" she stopped talking when she caught sight of specific someone over Janis's shoulder.''it's your future husband !'' she said, just when George and his group walked in the cafeteria, filling the room with they laughter. Before Janis could turn around and see with his own eyes, his chair was kicked from the back .

"S-sorry." George's friends mocked as the rest of the group laughed. But before they could walk away, Janis tried to steal a glance at George's way, only to be met with the absence of the taller boy.

Janis then looked desperately at Dany and said "He is so rude and insensitive. He also has a girlfriend." with a pointing look at Dany's way for the last bit.

Funny thing is that Danny actually has a crush on this girlfriend, Natalie, since 6th grade. Even though Natalie looks horrible inside out , Danny somehow still saw the best in her, like her eyes how they shined when she laughed or it was the fact that Danny knew that Natalie was hiding her true self from everyone.

''Listen...'' at her serious face Janis finally chose to hear what she has to say and leaned closer''...i really ship you and George.'' Here was it, the downfall, he doesn't know why he thought that she was actually going to say something smarter, more useful.

Janis just sighted in annoyance, stood up from his chair and started walking out of the cafeteria, leaving Danny alone to finish her lunch.

''I'm serious'' he heard her yell before he finally left through the double doors .
