They say life is full of ups and downs, but for someone who constantly experiences misfortunes, Jung Heewon beg to disagree to this notion.
Jung Heewon always has been a slave of money even before the 'teen' left her age. In order to have something to appease her growling stomach. In order to survive every despairing day. In order to live.
Walking out from the convenience store with a pack of ramen and an energy drink clasped in her hands, Jung Heewon began to contemplate why her life only suffers from continuous 'downs' and almost never from 'ups'. She rarely experiences eureka moments that she has forgotten when was the last time she felt elated. Her mind kept that train of thought till she reached Chungmuro Station. It's past midnight and she just got out her job as a bartender in a small pub around the area. Her small but firm muscles, built up by her past jobs and time to time kendo, are aching and she needs rest.
The station was quiet when she entered. While waiting for the train to arrive, she counts her hard-earned money inside her small purse.
“Three. . . six. . . nine—”
Clack! Clack! Clack!
A coin forced by gravity to fall from her grasp and jumping at least three times before rolling on the ground. This unfortunate moment created a disrupt in Heewon's balance causing the remaining coins and her drink to follow suit.
“Ha. . .” She sighed exasperatedly.
She put down her remaining ramen before crouching to pick up the coins. Her eyes caught a bronze coin rolling toward the railways. Her eyes went bulge and she desperately runs to it. One meter. . . one and a half foot. . . one—!
TAK!
There's a shoe stepping on it.
Heewon raised her head and a pair of dark orbs meets hers. A slim man in a ruffled office uniform with an unknown but familiar smile plastered on his face. The Mino Soft logo reflected by the light of the station on an identification card tucked in the pocket his white polo. “Seems like you need something to stop it.”
He was stepping on Heewon's coin.
Jung Heewon let out a sigh. However, this time, a small smile followed.
“Agh. Seriously. . .”
